So when you tighten them, they go quiet. It's just a floating nut in a brace, but then it's this 24-karat gold baked into the carbon for heat reflection. You can feel the weight of it or lack of weight. There's literally nothing to it, and these combined are an aero disc. So it gives a few miles per hour higher top speed. Seriously, yeah, it does. They actually contribute to top speed." So yes, it's all carbon fiber-based systems which is quite unique, especially for such a long door. This is the outer skin of a door, so there's another safety beam here. This is all filled with ballistic foam inside and crash structure in there, and it's a monocoque in the outer door skin. This is all kind of foamed up here as well, so it's kind of layers of layers of safety systems built up inside to compensate for that there is no B-pillar, of course. We have to build it all into the door, and the door overlaps the chassis and it's kind of interlocking mechanisms." Air Core Technology: https://lnkd.in/d4tMbU54 "This is the neck rest of the seat. This is much less wide than the seat is wide because we are positively laying up on these positive parts. So you have like a whole air core carbon fiber piece that's next to another whole air core carbon fiber piece that we then put into this negative tool, and then we pressurize it and bake it, and then we get rid of the air core, and then you have a hollow seat like that one. So these are those cores, the center core and the side cores. When you get rid of these, you have these carbon fiber walls running inside this seat monocoque made in one hollow piece. This comes from the wheel technology that we developed. We have all the load from the seat belt going into the seats. The roller sits underneath here and it rolls on the back of the seat here, so this has to be immensely strong and light. By doing it the air core way, we get this rib reinforcement and hollowness and positive layup with perfect overlapping."

This is exciting news from Rolls-Royce as they announce a major expansion of their Chichester factory! However, it is explained that this isn't just about increasing production; it's a strategic move to enhance their bespoke customization, catering to the unique desires of their ultra-wealthy clientele. The expansion includes five new buildings, providing much-needed space for more intricate workshops and storage for exotic materials. Unlike typical automotive expansions aimed at increasing volume, Rolls-Royce is focusing on making even more personalized vehicles. This decision underlines their commitment to maintaining their exclusivity as a premium brand. Since 2020, while the sales of Rolls-Royce vehicles have risen by 17%, the average price per vehicle has skyrocketed by 43%, from $350,000 to $500,000. This price increase is primarily due to the growing demand for customized features—ranging from bespoke paint jobs to interiors designed with custom wood inlays and even built-in cabinetry. For professionals in the automotive sector, this is a fascinating development to watch as it underscores a broader trend towards ultra-customization in response to global wealth dynamics.
