NRG Process Solutions approaches used equipment with a distinct perspective. We focus on saving our clients time and money by repurposing vessels that may otherwise have limited applications. In a recent project, we successfully transformed a 2-phase manually operated testing unit into a 3-phase automated production separator. The process began when we acquired a 2-phase test separator and then proceeded to strip the building and piping. We then completed vessel alteration calculations and design. Next, we added new nozzles and internals to convert it into a 3-phase separator, followed by fitting and painting the pipes. After installing the building, the completed unit was ready for loadout. Although this particular unit has found its permanent placement, we continue to offer many similar options and solutions. ⚫ Cold Cutter: In the oil and gas industry, "cold cutting" refers to the process of cutting through pipelines, tubings, or casings without using heat or flame. This method is employed in situations where hot work is not feasible due to safety concerns, potential fire hazards, or the presence of flammable materials. Cold cutting techniques utilize mechanical tools to achieve precise and controlled cuts, minimizing risks and ensuring the integrity of the surrounding infrastructure. ⚫ Main Components: · Base: The foundation of the cutter, providing stability and support for other components. · Clamping Mechanism: Holds the pipe securely in place during the cutting process. · Cutting Blades: The primary cutting elements, typically made of high-speed steel or carbide for durability. · Pneumatic Motor: Converts compressed air energy into rotational motion to drive the cutting blades. · Air Compressor: Supplies compressed air to the pneumatic motor. · Control Valves: Regulate the flow of compressed air to the motor. · Cutting Depth Adjustment: Mechanism to control the depth of the cut. ⚫ Operation: · The pneumatic cutting tool is positioned securely on the metal pipe to be cut. · Compressed air is supplied to the tool, activating the pneumatic motor. · The motor drives the cutting blade into the pipe, producing a clean and precise cut. · The operator controls the cutting operation, adjusting the air pressure if necessary for optimal cutting performance. · Once the cut is completed, the air supply is turned off, and the tool is removed from the pipe.
