The Medicare Advantage market is shifting, and brokers are feeling the impact. Rising beneficiary churn, payer consolidation, and new regulatory pressures are shaking up the industry like never before. Here’s the reality: brokers still play a critical role, managing 70% of MA distribution, but the game is changing. Members are shopping and switching plans more than ever, and customer acquisition costs are climbing. Some brokers are bowing out, while larger players are consolidating and gaining an edge. To stay in the game, brokers need to rethink their approach. Success will mean going beyond enrollment—engaging clients year-round, personalizing support, and proving value to both members and payers. It’s about becoming a trusted partner in beneficiaries’ long-term health journeys. https://hubs.li/Q02_PMc50

Ever wonder why its so critical to continuously conduct win/loss and voice of the customer research? Take Humana's recent news as a prime example of staying ahead of consumer expectations Humana's shares dropped over 10% after the company warned that a significant decline in Medicare Advantage star ratings could impact its 2026 financial results. The preliminary 2025 ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services show only 25% of Humana’s members enrolled in plans rated four stars or higher, down from 94% in 2024. These ratings directly influence insurer bonuses, with potential revenue losses ranging from $2 billion to $3 billion. Humana is appealing the ratings, citing potential errors and plans to mitigate the revenue hit if the appeal is unsuccessful. The decline could also impact 2025 Medicare enrollments, as seniors will see the lower ratings when choosing plans for the next year. Despite the setback, the company maintains that its 2024 and 2025 outlooks remain unaffected. #HealthInsurance #Fletcher #WinLoss https://lnkd.in/gvNXw9Kr
