We were supposed to be having an event today…but we had to cancel. The reel we posted last week showed the success of our International Women’s Day Brunch. An overbooked room full of women sharing, learning, and connecting. It was such a fun morning, and we left so grateful and happy to see all of our hard work coming together in such a positive way. Flash forward a week, and we had to cancel our Mastermind session because we didn’t have enough attendees signed up. Maybe the event was scheduled too close to our previous event, or everyone is on the wind-down to the long weekend, or the idea of taking a half-day away from the office in a 4-day week was too much, or something else…whatever it was, we made the decision to cancel. Something we really believe in is transparency, and we don’t want to be one of those businesses who only talk about our successes. ALL businesses have ups and downs; that’s a normal part of the process. It’s so easy to look at others (especially online) and think that they’re making huge waves with everything figured out so easily, but behind all of those successes, there will be struggles - struggles that they’re facing, have learned from, have failed at, and overcome. We were gutted to have to cancel an event, but we’re going to learn from this struggle and rethink our scheduling. Thank you to everyone who did book onto the event - we will be rearranging!

Newvember is upon us and what would our industry be without some trends to get everyone talking about the future? But when I speak about trends, I speak the truth which is why the message is upside down. The world we work in feels like it's been turned on its head. Why is that? ,Because at the end of 2024 we just witnessed that PEOPLE, HUMAN CAPITAL, and TALENT have drastically changed. It was time for CHANGE and America watched it with some tears, some happiness, and a whole lot of expectation. I consider this a trend and my number one for 2025 because our industry can do better. And I would suggest that it is time we all listened to what the majority of people are interested in, what matters to them, and allow their voices to be heard. Depending on who tells you that something is trending, you will agree, disagree, or agree to disagree. There are so many thought leaders who give you their thoughts on what matters to them but they also believe in finding the nuances that matter to you. On December 13th at the Club Ichi telethon, Liz Lathan, CMP and I will be talking about trends that we know matter in 2025. If you have not signed up as yet, now is your chance. If you have not joined this community yet, this is your opportunity. This is a movement that cares and prioritizes people. This is where ideas are generated. Where think tanks are boiling to challenge your mind. Where people meet and network organically. And this is where you belong. Join 300 members, alongside 8000 followers from across North America and the UK, because together we are building a brave space for everyone and for the purpose of creating a new culture that thrives on what we bring to make everyone's lives better. Money matters, but it is not the priority. Money comes from honesty, integrity, transparency, and happy, healthy, peaceful people like you. I am your kindness ambassador along with the rest of this community. This is a very personal post for a Monday but also a very important one for me. Two years ago, my life fell apart. In an instant, I lost everything I had—every cent, every sense of security. I hit rock bottom. It wasn’t just the financial loss—it was the weight of hopelessness that hit even harder. In my darkest moment, I reached out to SVP - Society of St. Vincent de Paul Ireland because I had nowhere else to turn. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect and my ego was definitely feeling the shame, but what I got was a lifeline. They gave me more than financial help—they gave me back a glimmer of hope when I thought I had none left. They reminded me I wasn’t alone. Now, every December, I give back. It’s my way of honoring what they gave me when I had nothing. This year, I’m running a series of masterclasses and workshops to help you get ready for 2025. Here’s the lineup : For the SMBs in my connections: ✅ Your 2025 Brand Makeover - A workshop dedicated to redesign your brand visuals for what’s next ✅Decoding Decisions: How to applying consumer behavior to your online strategy. ✅Designing Client Experiences That WOW ✅The Experience Advantage: Why in-person events will be your secret weapon in 2025 & how to run them ✅The Entrepreneur’s Brain Reset: Reset your mind for Business success in 2025 ✅Automations That Work: A workshop for scaling your business efficiently ✅The AI Assistant Workshop: Set up chatbots and voice automation for hands-free operations. For the brands looking to do something special for community & fan engagement in 2025: ✅Beyond the Buzz: Redefining community & fan engagement through education. Here’s how it works: You sign up (link is in the comments), donate €50/$50/£50 to SVP and I will help you make your business pretty spectacular for 2025 - that's a fair exchange!!

Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: Wow! 2024 was the year my 'Caffeinated Conversations' turned professional magic into community momentum! I love that Jon Van Der Veer, DO, MBA, and I shared our 2024 coauthor during our first good one-on-one marketing meeting today! When I transitioned to Marketing Director at Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care, I realized something powerful: purpose isn't just about a job title - it's about creating meaningful connections that transform lives. This year became a masterclass in how professional skills can fuel community impact. My top moments that truly captured this journey: • New Chapter at Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care: Aligning purpose with expanding healthcare access "Finding where your purpose meets your passion is where the magic happens." https://lnkd.in/ggeC8VBV • Community Belonging: Building meaningful networks beyond professional boundaries "Belonging to a community isn't just about fitting in—it's about finding purpose, support, and shared values." https://lnkd.in/gYwjPRMF • Creating Moments that Matter at YWRC: Leadership through service "Creating moments that matter!" https://lnkd.in/gY4_RnBv Beyond the professional milestones, 2024 was about real impact. Co-chairing the Dress for Success Des Moines Gala, leading the YWRC Celebrity Server dinner, and getting appointed as co-chair for Ronald McDonald House Charities - these weren't just events. They were opportunities to lift our community. My "Caffeinated Conversations" became more than networking - they became a movement of connection, understanding, and collective growth. Looking ahead to 2025, I'm fired up to help Hy-Vee Health Exemplar Care expand to 6 new locations. But more importantly, I'm excited to continue proving that when healthcare meets heartfelt community service, we all win. To everyone who shared a coffee, a conversation, or a moment of connection this year - thank you for making 2024 extraordinary. #LinkedInRewind #2024Wrapped #caffeinatedconversations -- Get your 2024 LinkedIn Rewind! 🚀BBS 11 WEEKS TO GO 🚀 Less then three months and the pressure is real. 🏃♀️This week I had two work days off in Amsterdam my second holiday of the year, a well needed reset. 🚀 Luckily Laura Matz and Milo Fletcher have been flying the flag, as well as new promo videos dropping on The Better Business Network page… 🚀 Then yesterday I was at Event Vision:2025 in Newbury yesterday, promoting the Summit and talking about a just climate transition to a bunch of event professionals hopefully encouraging a few more ticket sales… 🤮 The amount of tasks I need to do to help other team members do their job, as well as unread emails means working Saturday is definetely happening this weekend… 🤮 I was hoping to announce speakers this week but YET ANOTHER offer was turned down. 🚀 The new BBN Website community is on track to launch in November 🥰 In my defence it’s because I’m very close to announcing the Charity Partner for Project Salt Run and also a brand new business venture launching in December… 🎥 we’ve secured a media partner to take videos, interviews and photos of the event. The revolution will not be televised this year, so if you are not there, you won’t be able to enjoy the content this year… 🤷 Reminder tickets are capped at 350 (inc all speakers) because of catering - we have a sit down two course meal each day for people to connect, reset and revive midday. When they are gone, they are gone…. Link for tickets in comments #BBS25 #buildinpublic

I have been to MJBiz for the last five years, save 2020. I wish I could be there but our work is taking us to Mexico this week. I know it will be a great time for all who are heading out this week. Have fun, enjoy each other but most of all ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS. For my BIPOC and female founders heading into these unprecedented times with this unprecedented administration it is important that you really talk to your peers, who will not be affected or as affected by what is coming for us as an industry, and for certain “types” of people which have been identified. Here are three questions that you should ask when you are running your networking circuits. 1. How do you and/or your company plan to be in community with me/our company/our demographic, given the push to elimate DEI and equity from our vocabulary and from our programs? 2. How do you and/or your company plan to support consumers who belong to marginalized communities identified by the administration with access to medicine? 3. What initiatives are you and/or your company putting together to replace your DEI and equity initiatives that will more generally benefit our communities? If the person you are networking with cannot answer these questions, ask them why they or their company is not thinking about the answers. Don’t be afraid of hard conversations this MJBiz, they are critical for you, your company and our industry. Although I will miss seeing so many of my folks out and about in Las Vegas, will raise a shot of tequila from my current situationship in honor of your great week at MJBiz! Photo taken in Jalisco, MX

It’s been two years since I joined Pavilion. When I started, I thought it was just another slack group. (Here's the backstory) I remember my old VP of Sales coming back from lunches with all these new ideas. He kept this little notebook with him. He always had a new strategy to share, a new way to tackle our revenue challenges. I didn’t realise at the time that those lunches weren’t just casual chats - they were Pavilion meetings (Revenue Collective, IYKYK) He was tapping into a network of top leaders, sharing insights, and coming back inspired - I can literally remember his face walking into our central london offices! 🤓 (he didn't wear glasses - but he was a sponge) When I finally joined Pavilion myself, I had the best intentions. But for a while, I was a passive member...like veryyyy passive. Life got in the way. (I allowed it to) It meant missed opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. This year, I decided to change that. I made a commitment to show up, engage, and take advantage of everything Pavilion offers. And here’s what I’ve learnt: →Community spirit is real People here genuinely want to help. Whether it’s advice, intros, or just encouragement, someone always has your back. →Visibility creates opportunity Simply being active in the community has opened doors and built relationships I never thought possible. →There’s an unspoken prestige and trust I've connected with leaders and opened doors I didn’t expect. →Focus keeps you ahead Pavilion’s courses [CRO School *chefs kiss*], insights, and resources have helped me zero in on ways I can support my clients. Here's the thing: If you’re part of a professional community - or thinking of joining one - don’t just sign up. Show up. The more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. For me, Pavilion has been a pathway to growth, and I’m excited to see how 2025 unfolds now that I’m fully leaning in. What’s the biggest thing being part of a community has helped you achieve this year? P.S. The photo? That’s me at a Pavilion dinner earlier this year. Proof that being present makes all the difference.
