  While many organisations acknowledge the importance of diverse suppliers, there is still a disparity between aspirations and actions regarding diversity and inclusion in UK supply chains.   Business in the community has today published the ‘Diverse and inclusive supply chain insights’ report which asked large businesses about their procurement practices and small businesses about their experiences in working with large businesses.   There was a clear message from small businesses about their priorities - 76% would like support from organisations to win business. However, 52% of large business employees working in procurement do not, or do not know whether their organisation does anything to make diverse suppliers aware of opportunities – showing that there is still some work to be done.   Just like the benefits of diverse teams and boards, diverse supply chains can add to economic growth and provide a much-needed boost to communities. If we want our organisations to truly reflect the societies we live and work in, then we must make sure that everyone has a fair opportunity, and that includes all potential suppliers.   Actions that large businesses can take include: Supporting diverse suppliers to win business through simplifying documents and processes Track the diversity of supply chains and set targets for spending Continue breaking down barriers to growth   #BITC #Supplychains @sandra kerr Hannah Richardson Hannah Lowe Craig Cuffie Camille Drummond Leigh Lafever-Ayer Samantha Murray Harriet Walker

It was a fantastic opportunity to foster meaningful discussions and strengthen partnerships within the procurement landscape. At the event, we were able to: ✅ Showcase our service offerings, capabilities, and capacity to a range of government entities. ✅ Highlight the strategic benefits of tools like AusTender for market research and the Selling to Government website, empowering Cox Purtell Staffing Services to navigate how the Australian Government procures goods and services. ✅ Facilitate direct, open conversations between our consultants and government buyers, sharing first-hand experiences on engaging with federal procurement processes. ✅ Shine a light on the diversity within the People Panel supplier base, ensuring government entities are aware of the broad range of expertise available. ✅ Support suppliers in understanding how to effectively engage with government departments, while also providing insights on navigating the APS (Australian Public Service) environment to connect with buyers.
