NATO is ready to receive Ukraine. Ukraine is positioning to join NATO. Going by the level of damages done to Ukraine by Russia. Ukraine is not likely to consider any other option than to join NATO. Putin is a wizardry genius, powerful in the class of Adolf Hitler, if not more than. NATO wants to keep an eagle eye on Russia. Putin has just secured another 6 years term, NATO is feeling insured with Putin’s power & longevity. Without strategic decisions, war could escalate further. Donald Trump demonstrates the wherewithal to negotiate a ceasefire between Russia/Ukraine & Israel/Palestine. The forthcoming USA Presidential election is pivotal for global peace & decorum. The policy thrust of who becomes the next USA President will be crucial in dissolving or escalating the tension in international politics of power, crisis & war.

If President-elect Trump tries to negotiate a peace deal for Ukraine, one that involves Ukraine losing *some* territory, Putin will probably accept it in principle. This will put NATO in a dilemma — if they push Kyiv to accept it because de-escalation will be better for economies and security all around, they’ll seem unprincipled. If they tell him not to accept the deal, they’ll have to make up for the gap from America’s resource withdrawal. And of course Putin will accept the deal (in theory) because if he makes Trump look good, Trump will be amenable to sharing state secrets with him, or just being nice to Russia. Either way, NATO and the E.U. are clenching body parts right now. #USAElections2024 #VladimirPutin #Zelensky #Ukraine #NATO #EuropeanUnion

My latest. “Much time has been lost. Many opportunities for preemption, deterrence and collective action have been squandered. It is past time for NATO to stop Russia. Why is swift, pathbreaking action imperative? For moral reasons. Will NATO really allow Russia’s genocidal campaign to continue on in the heart of Europe? Does “never again” mean anything? For existential reasons. Russia threatens not just Ukraine, but democracies across Europe and beyond. Are NATO countries willing to risk their security and way of life for a temporary reprieve? For peace and stability. Russia brings war, mayhem and trauma everywhere it goes. Would NATO gamble on an elusive compromise with Russia when Putin always uses purported “peace processes” to buy time and cover for more war and aggression? To save what is left of the post-World War II world order. The emboldened Russia-China-Iran axis seeks a new world order dominated by authoritarians. Will NATO miss the chance to send the axis an unambiguous signal and setback by acting decisively against Russia?” #NATO #Russia #Ukraine

The only way to guarantee Ukraine's survival and long-term security -- and most importantly, to prevent direct US involvement in another major war on the European continent -- is to finally guarantee Ukraine a place in NATO. It was a promise given to Ukraine in 2008, and we have seen the disastrous consequences of the failure to fulfill that promise, first in 2014 and then in 2022. Former US Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor shows the way in this terrific The New York Times oped. BLUF: "Europe will not be secure — and will not be whole and free — until Ukraine is in NATO. Ukraine will not agree to end the war without it. The United States is key and must show sustained, persistent and creative leadership. With confidence and strength, and a lot of hard work on all sides, Ukraine can become a member of NATO. For peace in Europe, it must."

👇Shared this prior to the NATO Vilnius Summit. One year has passed: neither NATO nor the EU have mustered the courage and political will to rollback the terror regime in Moscow. By contrast, their members wasted valuable time to arm Ukraine robustly, fast and without delay and national caveats. The NATO Washington Summit Communique may be long and full of declarations of intent. But it won’t alter the strategic dynamic toward Russia and its supporters. Neither are the NATO allies ready to invite Ukraine to accession talks. Another wasted opportunity. Muddling through will continue to embolden Putin: in Ukraine, across Europe and beyond. The duo infernale Trump - Putin will patiently wait for the NATO Jubilee Summit in Washington to pass. There’s always an after day 😖🇺🇦

⚡️ "#Ukraine will be a member of NATO in the future, that's what we decided in Washington." Says #NATO Chief Mark Rutte. "In the future NATO will have as a 33rd or 34th we will have Ukraine..." ☝ The past and the #future we can always talk about; they’re not that relevant right now. The question isn't if Ukraine will be number 33 or 34 to join NATO. The question isn't even what Ukraine will do. Ukraine will fight on (because defeat means 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡) ⚠ Just like Putin will fight on, because ending the war means losing power. So Putin will wage war eternal just to hold on to power. And totalitarians of the world - North Korea, Iran, China - will continue to support him. So the only variable here is us, the Free West 📊 ❓ The question is what NATO and the free world will do to ensure that Ukraine wins and retains all of its territory. What is the plan? What will WE do? PS: Is this the same Mark who ruled my country for almost 14 years, and mainly cut #military spending during his term? I like this Mark more. #Strategy #Leadership #StandWithUkraine 🇺🇦

My personal opinion: do we need NATO at this point or at all? We already saw how the alliance is not able to protects its members (missiles, drones flying over NATO territory with not actions, being on standby mode, ready to be deeply concerned). Today, Ukrainian army is the most experienced army in the world. What we really need, is to create new security alliance with those countries which are bordering with russia. With such approach we will minimize the risks of russia attacking other countries cause the member of new alliance will intervene. And the time for reaction will be much faster than western countries did at the beginning of full scale war in Ukraine.

In testimony to the European Union Parliament, Stoltenberg made clear that it was America’s relentless push to enlarge NATO to Ukraine that was the real cause of the war and why it continues today. Here are Stoltenberg’s revealing words: “The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition to not invade Ukraine. Of course, we didn't sign that. #news #nato #war #ukrainewar
