Turfgrass Technology Consultant

Thaddaeus Huber's entry into the turfgrass world happened around the dinner table when his father-in-law, Armen Suny (a familiar name to many), made mention of a disease known as thatch collapse. Knowing Thad was a PhD mushroom scientist, he charged him with an idea: "If you could extract the enzyme eating that thatch, and spray it evenly over the whole golf course... Well, you'd solve one of the biggest problems turfgrass managers face." And thus, THATCHzyme was born. Beginning with homebrews in a garage that produced a product with laccase enzyme concentrations needing high application rates, to now being able to deliver a highly concentrated, shelf stable product that can be applied at ultra low rates. Laccase has been proven in previous literature to degrade lignin, and the high concentrations THATCHZyme is able to provide has been effective in thatch management throughout their trials. After seeing the results with my own eyes, and speaking with the founders in depth over the past year, I believe in THATCHzyme.
