Why DO weddings cost so much?  😲 It’s easy to underestimate how everything adds up when all is said and done.  🙄 Plus, there’s the “wedding tax” - when things cost more just because you’re paying for a wedding.  (Though vendors offer an insight as to why they charge more…) 💝 You also want to make your wedding day as special as possible - for you and your guests.   💰 So how much is the right amount to spend?! 💡 The way I like to approach all financial decisions is from the lens of your values and your goals.  🔑 “Will this decision help me live in greater alignment with my values?  Will this decision help me get closer to achieving my goals?” 💩 If the answer is no - move on.  It’s not the right strategy for you. 🌱 But if the answer is yes, then you can continue down the path of exploring all the numbers, details, and outcomes to curate the right approach and fit for you. 🦄 At the end of the day, everyone will have a different answer as to what they value and what they want to spend their money on.  ✨ When it comes to planning a wedding - spend some time to talk with your partner about each of your values and goals for the big day.  What do you want?  What do you care about?  What is worth it to you to spend money on?  💸 These questions will help you start to curate an experience that really reflects who you are and what you care about.  In turn, your money becomes more meaningful, impactful, and valuable.  🥂 Cheers to all the happy couples out there!! #weddingplanning #values #financialplanning #youdoyou https://lnkd.in/eWtEDBdg

Planning a wedding is hard work and involves a lot of emotions. There are many components to a wedding and not one couple feel the same about them. When we start planning a wedding with a couple, we first find out what matters the most to that specific couple. 💭 This gives them clarity and helps them understand what to spend their money, energy and time on. ⏳ 💸 Perhaps one partner is looking forward to pair the best wines to the food, while the other is more excited about creating a dance floor nobody wants to leave. Whatever things they're the most hyped about are the things that should be on top of the priority list! These are the so called non-negotiables! The priority list is then used when we create the budget and as a guideline for all the big-day decisions. A priority list is good to have not just in wedding planning but also in a relationship.
