🚨 From Teacher-Leader to Assistant Principal TLC23/Surge Alum Kyla Mathews, EdD, David McGuire, Ed.D. and Ashley Peel will facilitate session 2 of our professional learning series! They came up with a framework to address why/how Principals should be teaching the VP the mindset and skills of school leadership to be more prepared on day one. This presentation will focus on the idea that if principals create a working entry plan/leadership plan aligned to the buckets for school leaders: getting organized, relationship building, instructional programming, data analysis, community engagement, and operations, then the VPs are clear about the operational, instructional, and managerial aspects of school leadership. The presentation will explore this idea and help school leaders develop a road map and monitoring mechanisms. Register here: https://lnkd.in/g6jy4JdT

🌟 Empowering Future Leaders Through Bite-Sized Learning 🌟 I recently had the privilege of designing the Youth Leadership Course—a program tailored for 13–18-year-olds to equip them with tools and confidence for future leadership roles. This initiative was part of my work with Fit & Fed, a fantastic local organization dedicated to supporting children entitled to free school meals by providing food and activities during school holidays. Fit & Fed is the legacy project of my late kickboxing coach Jeff, an amazing and selfless person who is not forgotten! Developing this course was both challenging and rewarding, especially as it required adapting leadership training for a younger audience. Here’s how we approached it: 📚 Bite-Sized Modules for Impact To suit younger learners, we broke the content into shorter, digestible sessions—ensuring engagement and retention throughout the virtual course. 🎥 Multimedia Learning We incorporated diverse formats like videos, activities, text, and imagery to meet varying learning preferences and make the content dynamic and accessible. 🤝 Inclusive Collaboration Getting the tone and vocabulary right was critical. By working closely with stakeholders, we ensured the course remained inclusive and accessible to all participants, regardless of background or learning level. 💻 Experience It for Yourself! You can explore the Youth Leadership Course directly on my website: https://lnkd.in/gpkKERSK 💬 Are you working on projects aimed at empowering young learners? I’d love to hear how you’re making an impact! #YouthLeadership #LearningAndDevelopment #InstructionalDesign #EdTech #InclusiveLearning #LeadershipSkills #CommunityImpact #FitAndFed
