👏 👏 Creating a Fife Whisky Region now would provide a clear identity, marketing advantage, and a sense of pride for local producers and consumers. While the logistical and bureaucratic hurdles are real, the long-term benefits for Fife's whisky-making community and its global reputation outweigh the costs. As the saying goes, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the second-best time is now. The same holds true for establishing Fife as a whisky region 👏 This version draws more attention to the passion and heritage of the distilleries while emphasizing the unique opportunity to build a distinct identity for Fife now, rather than waiting. The goal is to inspire a sense of pride and urgency in moving forward with the creation of a Fife Whisky Region. https://lnkd.in/ghhfefNA #whisky #fifewhisky #fife

The article in this post pulls together very well the many strands for the argument in favour of Fife being its own whisky region. As it clearly states we at InchDairnie Distillery are very strong advocates for this big step. We believe this will assist in the growth and development of all the fine whisky brands distilled in Fife, many of whom are already on the global stage. Provenance is important to many of our consumers, where does your whisky come from? Answering that question with clarity and simplicity is a a big part of the tool box needed in this increasingly highly competitive market place to build our brands. Todays consumer is curious and hungry for information, it is our role as brand owners to provide that information and to put it front and centre of our branding. Whisky is distilled in many more countries than ever before, the competition is no longer home grown. Countries where they have the freedom to take their own path. I simply do not understand why we in Fife should be denied the right to take our own path in this ever changing and challenging world.
In my inaugural blog post for my new Fife Whisky Tour Website & Day Trip I discuss why I believe my beloved Fife should be allowed to break free from its Lowland Whisky Region chains to become its own Fife Whisky Region. Starring: William Wemyss & Isabella Wemyss of Kingsbarns Distillery and Visitor Centre. Andrew McKenzie Smith of Lindores Abbey Distillery. Ian Palmer of InchDairnie Distillery. Francis Cuthbert of Daftmill Distillery. Mike Aikman of Bramble, Lucky Liquor & The Last Word. Simon Erlanger of Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd. Archie McDiarmid of Luvians, St Andrews. Whisky authors Dave Broom & David Sturk. The Haig, Stein & Bonthrone dynasties, My late father John Gordon Clement. Actors Kevin Costner & late James Earl Jones in The Field of Dreams. Singer-somgwriter King Creosote (Kenny Anderson). Justine Hazlehurst & Karen Somerville of Fife Whisky Festival. What do you think? Would love to hear your opinions on the matter in the comments...

🎉Happy International Whisk(e)y Day to all those who appreciate a good whisky, recognize it and know how to enjoy it. And best wishes to producers and master distillers all over the world that successfully overcome the challenges every day, constantly exploit their creativity to give new edges to the products and significantly contribute to the development of the quality whisk(e)y community and industry. Our journey with Carpathian Single Malt Whisky was not easy, the project didn’t take shape overnight and not everybody believed that we will succeed. But we did succeed and that happened very quickly after the release. The overwhelming positive feedback of our consumers and industry experts, the international awards, the events that we have organized all over the world, the high number of expressions that we have released so far, are all part of this success. ❕Highland Peak and Highland Mountain are also successful brands in our portfolio, inspired by the beauty and natural resources of the mountains as well. But today, I want to share with you a video that illustrates the journey of Carpathian Single Malt Whisky so far, speaks about the passion of our team and shows the enthusiasm of those that have tasted it. I hope our story will inspire others who have a dream, but haven’t had the courage to pursue it yet, to make the first step. Dream big, take action and ignore the background noise! That's what we did and that's why we're here now. 💡And keep following us, because we will soon unveil and new single malt whisky! 🥃Cheers! #romaniasfirstsinglemaltwhisky #carpathiansinglemalt #internationalwhiskeyday #alexandrionsaberdistillery1789 #romanianbarley #romanianwater #carpathianmountains
