Katoen Natie partnered with A-SAFE to improve operations and protect costs in their 350,000 square metre facility in Ghent. With 1 kilometre of A-SAFE barriers installed on their site, Katoen Natie can now rest easy, assured that their buildings, machinery, and equipment are protected. Since the collaboration with A-SAFE, they have also experienced significant reductions in costs. They were able to calculate the return on investment at between one and two years when compared with steel or other barrier solutions, thanks to lower maintenance repair costs, as well as a reduction in sequential damage such as repairs on rolling materials, downtime and concrete repairs: https://lnkd.in/d8Q9j6Dw

From 1 January 2025, cargo and passenger ships over 5,000 gross GT must comply with a cap on the allowable Greenhouse Gas (GHG) intensity of the energy they use when trading within, to, or from the EU. This is a first step, with increasingly stringent caps planned over the next 25 years, and other requirements such as the use of onshore power for certain ship types. So, what is the FuelEU Maritime Regulation? What implications does it have for shipowners, managers, and charterers? How can they best prepare for these changes? A thorough inspection of the calcium carbonate and loading equipment is conducted, along with completing the required documentation for compliance. Once ready, machinery like front-end loaders is used to load the material into containers or trucks. The load is then secured to prevent spillage during transport.
