This morning two of our team walked three suburbs and did a park bench audit along the way. The key findings were 31 park benches counted in 10 kilometres. 2 postcodes had more park benches to encourage people of all abilities to get out amongst nature and to confidently have a place to rest at regular intervals, 1 was significantly underdone. Some suburbs had park benches not just near sporting fields to watch sporting activity, they had them along paths (see pic below) to offer a place to rest and recharge along the way. Only one had rubbish on it. Too many tram and bus stops without a place to sit. Lets advocate to design the outdoors for all abilities. #keepactive #enableactivity #designtoencourageactiveliving
