As a teacher, you are only as good as your weakest student. In schools back in the day, some teachers took pride when students failed their subjects, believing it showed high standards. The usual suspects were Maths and Introductory Technology teachers 😂 Today, with adaptive learning powered by AI, education has transformed. Students get the help they need to complete their assignments, show their workings, and revisit any missed steps. Educators can now turn new and existing teaching content into engaging and interactive assignments, providing valuable insights and guiding students as they work. Differentiated instruction is crucial for catering to diverse student needs, especially in classrooms with students of varying abilities. AI algorithms are already used to adapt math and reading lessons in real-time to ensure that every student receives an appropriate level of support and challenge. Ideally, such data-driven approaches allow for more effective and inclusive teaching practices by improving student engagement and achievement while helping educators identify and address learning gaps more effectively.

I have purposefully stepped back from the comments, discussions, arguments, outrage and everything else that this has caused since it arrived. I did this for 3 reasons: 1) Much of this is a combination of attention seeking, click bait and a distortion of the reality that is likely to be actually happening 2) There is very little here that is actually anything new or radically different than what is going on in other places and has been for a while 3) This is pitched as an 'AI thing' when the reality is that is not really about AI at all. AI is playing a minor role here. It is not enabling the concept nor did it make the decision. The whole thing can be done without any AI involvement. So, the only thing I will ask is - How much of this is training not teaching? #aieducation #ai #education #genai #generativeai #aiineducation
