These engineering marvels enable builders to lift and move heavy materials with ease, making them indispensable on large construction sites. But have you ever wondered how they operate and reach such staggering heights? Unlike hydraulic machines, tower cranes rely on powerful electric motors to function. They can lift loads of up to 100 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐬 and extend over 250 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 tall. The installation process is equally fascinating. A strong concrete foundation is first laid, and the crane's mast sections are lifted and added using a telescopic crane. As the building grows taller, so does the crane, using a telescoping mechanism powered by hydraulic pumps. It provides an innovative alternative to traditional steel reinforcement. It is based on Arkema's Elium® resin. Sireg's Glasspree® TP bars represent a breakthrough for the construction sector. Double the Tensile Strength of Steel Sireg's fiberglass bars using the Elium® thermoplastic resin have double the tensile strength of steel. They stand out by their remarkable light weight (75% lighter than steel), their corrosion-proof property and their chemical resistance. They show dimensional stability in the event of extreme thermal changes and are also fully recyclable. They contribute to the energy efficiency of structures. Also, they significantly reduce the carbon footprint of maintenance activities. The Elium® thermoplastic resin ensures a major gain in productivity as well as greater flexibility for the supply of composite reinforcement, thus improving the overall profitability of construction projects. 'Forgiving' is the key word for E5 Internal Cure admixture. Even at 37 deg C, with extreme hot weather condition for such a large open slab without a single plastic shrinkage crack is the true testimony of its forgiving characteristics. The result will not be limited to a crack free beautiful surface, but also a durable, curl free, tough abrasion resistance floor without the requirement of evaporation retarder, wet curing/curing compound, floor hardener, and shrinkage reducing admixtures. Saving costs not only from these materials but also expensive labour to apply them. SUCCESS CASE Rúbrica Engineering proposed an alternative method for the placement of prefabricated half-arches. With this method, two half-arches are unloaded by mobile crane on top of the transfer bed. Later both pieces are tranfered and installed by the gantry in final position. Meanwhile the mobile crane prepares another pair of semi-arches. This process synchronization significantly shortens time of installation eliminating waiting times.
