In Nigeria, women are leading the charge in breaking stereotypes and shattering barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields such as technology and business. Despite facing challenges such as gender bias and societal expectations, Nigerian women are carving out their paths to success, driving innovation, and inspiring future generations. Nigeria, like many countries, grapples with a significant gender gap in various sectors, including technology and business. However, Nigerian women are refusing to be confined by these barriers, leveraging their skills, resilience, and determination to make their mark in the tech and business landscape. From software developers and data scientists to entrepreneurs and tech leaders, Nigerian women are making significant contributions to the sector's growth and development leveraging their creativity, resilience, and business acumen to launch successful ventures, create jobs, and drive economic growth. One of the most remarkable aspects of Nigerian women's journey in tech and business is their ability to balance femininity with leadership qualities. Over the years, the world has witnessed the rise of Women across different spheres, especially STEM. An indication that Women are beginning to sideline societal limitations that slowed them from dreaming and becoming. African Women are equally not left behind thanks to Orientation & Awareness Campaigns by Empowerment bodies like EMPOWER_HER NETWORK AFRICA, that constantly encourages Women, reminding them of their worth, abilities, and presenting them with opportunities and the right network. Still, there seem to be need for more awareness to help boost the feminine Confidence, so as to overcome self-limiting beliefs. Speaking at Moi Femme on DASH MEDIA Officiel , Leila Kigha (Personal Branding & Communications Strategist) spoke on Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and Societal’s role in it. She urged Women to take advantage of the world of opportunities by working on their thought process. 📍The time has come for Women to shine on, by consciously portraying their efficiency in words and in deeds. #EmpoweringWomen #EmpoweringAfricanWomen #EmpowerHerNetworkAfrica #combattingstereotypes #dashmedia

INSPIRING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’s DAY EVERYONE! This year's International Women's Day, I'm excited to highlight some remarkable women on LinkedIn who have captured my admiration. These are women who wholeheartedly embrace #GenAI, recognizing the transformative potential of this revolutionary technology in addressing the causes they champion. One notable example is Dr Ijeoma Emeagi nee Agwamba, Country Secretary of the Forum For African Women Educationalists, Nigeria (FAWENg) Chapter. Dr. Emeagi boasts over 25 years of experience in ICT/Computer Science, its various technologies, and application areas like data analytics. She has explored how data analysis can significantly impact decision-making and also educates data professionals on the importance of preserving data privacy and ethics. I had the honor of meeting Dr. Ijeoma Emeagi nee Agwamba at the #InnovateAILagos2024 conference, organized by AI In Nigeria. During this summit, Dr. Emeagi initiated engaging discussions with numerous bank CEOs, leaders in the communications industry, and political figures responsible for education, focusing on the judicious application of AI technology to improve Nigeria's educational sector. In regions where traditional educational infrastructure is unfeasible due to a lack of resources—such as teachers, school buildings, and finances—GenAI developing start-ups will prove pivotal and deserve comprehensive support for their innovative role in advancing education in Nigeria. Dr. Ijeoma Emeagi nee Agwamba, I hold you in high regard for your dedication! Keep continuously reminding Nigeria's bank CEOs, telecom companies, and politicians overseeing education, about the importance of AI advancements! I strongly believe developments like #LAM models, 1-BIT LLMs, and the upcoming local, mobile compute on LPUs like those from Groq, will soon integrate into highly affordable smartphones and inexpensive AI devices, akin to rabbit inc.'s #rabbitr1, or open-source AI devices like those from Brilliant Labs. Such innovations warrant their full attention and support in your fight to provide affordable education to everyone in Nigeria, irrespective of their background or entry level. Illiteracy is no longer a barrier; OpenAI's AI solutions already can communicate in Nigeria's languages, reaching people who were previously unreachable by soon outdated educational methods. With passionate advocates like you, Dr. Emeagi, not only Nigeria but the entire continent is poised for a promising future!

Throughout history, women have played essential roles in leading revolutions and movements for change across the globe. In the context of Africa, women have shown strong leadership qualities and determination in advocating for social justice, equality, and progress. It can be argued that women are better suited to lead the African revolution due to their unique perspectives, empathetic nature, and collaborative approach to problem-solving. First and foremost, women bring diverse perspectives to leadership roles in the African revolution. As individuals who have historically been marginalized and oppressed, women understand the struggles faced by various communities in Africa. They are more likely to prioritize issues such as gender equality, poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability, which are often neglected in traditional leadership structures. By considering the needs and experiences of all members of society, women leaders can develop inclusive and equitable policies that benefit the entire African population. Moreover, women are known for their empathetic nature and ability to connect with people on a personal level. This quality is crucial in leading a successful revolution in Africa, where addressing deep-rooted social, political, and economic challenges requires building trust and unity among diverse groups. Women leaders are adept at fostering collaboration, dialogue, and reconciliation, which are essential for overcoming historical divisions and achieving lasting change. By promoting empathy and understanding, women can inspire collective action and mobilize individuals to work together towards a common goal of a more just and prosperous Africa. Furthermore, women leaders often exhibit a collaborative approach to problem-solving, which is particularly important in the complex and interconnected issues facing the African continent. By engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including civil society organizations, youth groups, religious institutions, and international partners, women leaders can leverage diverse perspectives and resources to address systemic challenges effectively. Through dialogue and consultation, women can build consensus, drive innovation, and implement sustainable solutions that benefit all members of society. In conclusion, women are better suited to lead the African revolution due to their unique perspectives, empathetic nature, and collaborative approach to leadership. By prioritizing inclusivity, empathy, and collaboration, women can address the complex challenges facing Africa and inspire meaningful change that benefits the entire continent. As history has shown, women have the strength, resilience, and vision to lead revolutions and movements for social justice, and Africa stands to benefit from their leadership in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future.

What a great honor to be recognized among many other Ladies in the profession as #DigitalTransformation agents in #Africa. My experience in the #TechnologySpace has been in various sectors, #Healthcare, #Telecommunications, and now #Financial. Technology is the #Enabler and #Driver of business. Others still view technology as a support function, which might slow down the huge transformations required to springboard performance. Embracing technology through #DataAnalytics, #ArtificialIntelligence, and #robotics simplifies huge tasks while minimizing errors. #SACCOS & #Cooperatives are adopting much digital transformation in serving members. 😍

Gone are the days where women' had know saying in our Africa society Investing in women to accelerate progress in Cameroon is not just a smart move; it's a transformative strategy that can yield significant benefits for the country as a whole. When women are empowered and given equal opportunities, it has a ripple effect that positively impacts families, communities, and the nation's development as a whole. Let's explore how investing in women can accelerate progress in Cameroon: 1. Economic Empowerment: By investing in women's entrepreneurship, access to education, and participation in the workforce, Cameroon can unlock immense economic potential. When women are able to contribute to the economy on an equal footing with men, it leads to increased productivity, higher incomes for families, and overall economic growth. 2. Education and Healthcare: Investing in women's education and healthcare not only empowers women individually but also benefits society as a whole. Educated women tend to have smaller families, better health outcomes, and are more likely to invest in their children's education, breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a more prosperous future for all. 3. Political Participation: Encouraging women's participation in politics and decision-making processes is crucial for ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and that policies are inclusive. When women are represented in leadership roles, it leads to more balanced and effective governance, addressing a broader range of issues and creating a more equitable society. 4. Social Empowerment: Investing in programs that support women's rights, address gender-based violence, and promote gender equality contributes to a more just and inclusive society. By empowering women to have control over their own lives, make choices about their future, and have equal rights, Cameroon can build a more resilient and harmonious community. 5. Technology and Innovation: Providing women with access to technology, training, and resources can spur innovation and creativity. Supporting women entrepreneurs in STEM fields, for example, can drive technological advancements, create new opportunities for economic growth, and enhance Cameroon's competitiveness on the global stage. By investing in women across these key areas, Cameroon can unlock the full potential of its population, drive sustainable development, and foster a more equitable and prosperous society for all. Empowering women is not just a moral imperative; it is a strategic investment in a brighter future for Cameroon and its people. I'm excited about the possibilities that investing in women can bring to Cameroonians , Africa, and the world progress. An article presented by #africanwisdom

Building a Future of Economically and Socially Empowered Women in the Digital Era Reflecting on the just concluded Mother's Day, we are happy to highlight the transformative stories emerging from the Ajira Digital Program, particularly its impact on the young women in our country, Kenya. Ajira Digital Program continues to empower young men and women economically and socially especially for those in rural and marginalized areas by providing them access to digital skills and work opportunities. The Program not only offers employment and income generation opportunities but also fosters broader societal changes. Empowered women become advocates, family supporters, and influential community contributors. Young women gain economic participation and social inclusion, enhancing personal growth and community resilience. The stories of Chuuza. Africa and FUNDIS APP are a testament to this transformation, with women transitioning from low-paying jobs to tech careers or starting their own businesses. Emma Wafula's journey exemplifies Ajira Digital's empowering effect, showcasing how the Program has provided her with skills, income, and a supportive community. However, challenges remain. The digital gender divide persists, with only 35% of women able to use advanced digital services. Ajira Digital is actively working to bridge this gap by targeting interventions that enhance women’s access to digital opportunities. Looking ahead, Ajira Digital sets ambitious goals: to increase women’s participation in digital jobs to 70%, with a keen focus on marginalized communities and refugee camps. As we celebrate young women and mothers, let's acknowledge the role of digital and digitally-enabled work in empowering women and fostering gender equality and community development through digital empowerment. Together, we can advance the digital economy and empower more women to become technology leaders. https://lnkd.in/duAGbT7q #digitalwork #youthemployment #DigitalEconomy Mastercard Foundation eMobilis Mobile Technology Institute

In 2024, as we celebrate International Women's Day, let's champion inclusion and accelerate progress by investing in women. By fostering diverse voices and creating equitable opportunities, we amplify the strength of our collective potential. It's time to bridge gaps and dismantle barriers, recognizing that empowering women isn't just a moral imperative but a strategic necessity for societal advancement. Investing in women means investing in education, healthcare, and leadership, propelling us towards a future where every woman's talent is unleashed, every dream is nurtured, and every contribution is valued. According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) last report on women and men in Nigeria, 22% of annual STEM graduates from Nigerian universities are women, while about 5% of this figure can be found in the information and communication technology sector. Therefore, to sustain the inclusion journey, we are required to catch them young. Let's commit to a world where inclusivity is not just a goal but a shared reality by standing strong with women. Listen with an open mind to hear, uplift, and advocate. Choosing to be an ally to empower creates a world where women thrive and equity prevails. #inspireinclusion #whispersbyTEN #20241WD
