One more experience of a Lala company which my friend encountered recently. Recently, my friend was approached by a director of a family owned company through Linkedin who wanted to know if he would be interested in joining him as National Sales Manager for B2B business in Bangalore. My friend is based in Mumbai. The director came up with lot of issues he is facing currently from his sales team ( low performance, integrity issues, attrition, few employees running parallel businesses, sharing leads and / or orders with their ex employers / competitors etc). The director told him the CTC verbally after discussing but expressed his inability to give it in writing in the offer letter. But he said that the same would be there in the appointment letter once my friend joins him in Bangalore. Ofcourse, my friend rejected this shadowy character's offer. What if the CTC committed / offered verbally and that mentioned in the appointment letter is lesser and do not match ? Can you do anything after joining in a new company in a new town ? There are only two options - leave the job and comeback or continue without your wish in a Lala style unprofessional work culture where policies keeps changing like wind as per the employer's convenience and the future of your career is based on the whims and fancies of the director / owner / promoter. Do you think you can believe and have trust in such a person who can't give in writing what he is promising to pay ? Does this doesn't amount to unprofessionalism ? Beware of such Lala's who are there to exploit people in vulnerable conditions. Don't fall prey to any fake / job offers which are not clear and transparent in writing. A valuable life lesson for all.
This is the real story of the guy who was on rent in our apartment. This guy resigned as he got a good offer at Hyderabad & was planning his life ahead making a big move from Mumbai to Hyderabad. The company initially confirmed his offer but weren't providing the offer letter saying some or the other reason & later on declined the offer claiming the position is on hold. He managed to get another job after a wait of 5 months. Here, one can't even advise to not resign before getting the offer later because the companies claim to have an upper hand of taking back the offer as per their clause. 🥸Pandu is back with his life lessons & inspiring story but this time, don't be like a Pandu👇
