How BIG is your collection? Do you have a few bottles, or are you a serious collector? Remember, it’s not about the size; it’s how you handle what you’ve got. 😄 Organising your wines effectively means you’ll spend less time searching and more time enjoying them. 🍾 Here are a few tips on how to organise your collection effectively. ➡Categorise your wines Decide how to organise your collection. You can sort by varietal, like Cabernet or Chardonnay, region, such as French or Italian, or type, including reds, whites, and sparklings. ➡Label your bottles Use clear labels to save time when searching for specific wines. A simple colour-coding system—like green for whites and red for reds—can help you quickly locate what you need. ➡Choose the right storage solution If you don't have a wine cellar, then invest in a good wine rack or a stylish wine wall to keep your bottles organised and accessible. Storing cork-sealed bottles horizontally helps maintain moisture in the cork, preserving the wine. ➡Review your collection regularly Conduct an inventory every few months to keep track of what you have. This ensures that older wines don’t get forgotten. How do you currently keep your wines organised? #WineCollection #WineLovers #WineStorage #WineOrganisation #WineTips

Let’s talk about wine storage. For those of us who have cellars, clearly, this isn’t for you. However, if you are new to wine, or perhaps have never been told, this is for you! Temps- If stored at a too high temp, your wine can turn into vinegar. If the wine is exposed to too cold of a temp, it can expand, and pop out the cork. So what is the perfect temp? 55, if you don’t have a dual zone wine fridge, is perfect. If stored at room temp, you can keep them for a bit, but not quite as long. Humidity- Wines need humidity or the corks can dry up. Too much, and mold can happen. 50-80% is perfect. Stay away from windows- your wine can burn that way, as crazy as that sounds. It tastes awful, so I 0 out of 10 reccomend this. Position- Lay it flat. This will keep the moisture up. Also, you don’t want it moving, so keeping it still is super important. Lastly, if you don’t have a wine fridge, store your wine in your pantry. You don’t want it any place that can pick up odors, or changing temps, so pantries are usually the best room. #winestorage #keepitcool

Start the new year with a resolution to keep your wine collection stored properly. Storing your wine the right way can make a huge difference in how it ages and tastes. Here are some simple tips to keep your collection in great shape. 🆒 Store wine at a steady temperature of 12-14°C (54-57°F). Avoid places where the temperature changes a lot, like the kitchen. ☀️ Light can damage wine. Keep your bottles in a dark place, like a cellar or wine fridge. 🍾 Laying wine bottles on their side keeps the cork moist and prevents air from ruining the wine. 🥂 If you’re serious about wine, invest in a wine fridge, rack, or cellar. Proper storage keeps wine at the right temperature and organised. 🥵 Aim for a humidity level between 50-70%. Too much or too little can harm your wine and corks. 💯 Sort your wine by type or age so you can easily find what you need. 🍾 Make it a goal this year to enjoy the bottles you’ve been saving—don’t let them collect dust! Proper storage doesn’t have to be complicated—just a few simple steps will make all the difference. Want to find out more? Is limited space holding back your wine collection? So, you love wine but don't have a cellar? No problem! You don't need a huge space to look after your collection. 🍾 The key is to find a cool, dark spot. A cupboard or even under your stairs can work. 🍾 If you've got the budget, a small wine fridge is a game-changer. It keeps your wine at the perfect temperature and stops it from getting shaken up. 🍾 But if you're on a tighter budget, don't worry. You can get creative with DIY racks. Just make sure you're not storing your wine somewhere hot or really bright. The main things to watch out for are temperature, light, and vibration. If you can keep those under control, your wine will be happy, and you'll be enjoying it for longer. These simple tips can ensure your favourite wines are stored properly, even without a dedicated cellar and without breaking the bank! Winning. 🏆 🍾 Want more tips on specific storage solutions or how to care for different types of wine? 🍷Did you know that... The Cork taint – it’s the two-word horror story that can ruin an otherwise perfect bottle of wine. As wine enthusiasts, we relish the joy of uncorking a bottle, pouring the rich, aromatic liquid into a glass, and savoring every sip. But occasionally, we are met with a musty, moldy smell that signals our beloved wine has fallen victim to cork taint. Let’s dive into what cork taint is. What Exactly is Cork Taint? 🍾 Cork taint is primarily caused by a compound called TCA (2,4,6-trichloroanisole). TCA forms when fungi come into contact with certain compounds. And while cork taint can technically affect any wine, it’s more commonly associated with those sealed with natural corks and often described as smelling like damp cardboard/mold. The affected wine will have dulled aromas and flavors, making it taste flat and unappealing. How Common is Cork Taint? 🥂 Estimates vary, but it’s generally believed that around 2-5% of wines sealed with natural cork are affected by cork taint. Advances in cork production and quality control have reduced this number over the years, but it remains a concern for winemakers and wine lovers. Embracing the Perfect Pour 🍷 While cork taint is an unfortunate flaw, it’s a small risk in the grand adventure of exploring wines. Advances in cork production and alternative closures are continually improving the odds. So, let’s raise our glasses to the hope of fewer tainted bottles and more delightful, aromatic pours in our future. Cheers to untainted, perfect wines! 🍷 . . . #education #wine #italianwine #winelover #winespectator #WineIndustry #WineProfessionals #WineBusiness #WineCareers #WineNetworking #WineMarket #WineIndustryInsights #WineCommunity #WineBusinesses #WineIndustryTrends #CustomerLoyalty #BrandLoyalty #WineDistribution #WineProducers #Trending #BusinessDevelopment

Beginners Guide to enjoy wine Starting to enjoy wine can be overwhelming with its vast varieties and etiquette. To help you get started, here are three essential things to consider: 1️⃣ A corkscrew, butterfly wings, or screwpull are essential tools for opening a bottle of wine sealed with a cork, each designed to effortlessly extract the cork. However, wines sealed with a screwcap don't require any of these tools, making them more convenient for quick and easy access. 2️⃣ Wine glasses should be clear, stemmed, with a broad base and a narrow rim to enhance the wine's aromas and flavors. Lighter, thinner glasses elevate the drinking experience, offering a more refined and enjoyable sip. 3️⃣ A wine cabinet is ideal for storing wine, keeping the temperature consistently between 11-14°C to preserve the wine's quality. If you don't have a wine cabinet, storing wines in a food fridge is a temporary solution, but it's best not to exceed a month to avoid affecting the wine's taste and aging process. By paying attention to these details, you can elevate your wine experience to new heights. Ask me your wine-related questions in the comments below! If your wine collection could talk, what would it say about where it lives? “It’s cramped in here!” (That cabinet wasn’t made for wine.) “It’s too hot!” (Room temperature doesn’t do aging any favours.) “I deserve better!” (A collection like yours should stand out.) How you store your wine is just as important as the collection itself. Proper wine storage protects your collection and ensures it’s in the right conditions to age well. 🍾🍾 So, where’s your wine living right now? A cupboard? A shelf? The fridge? Is it time for a better solution? 🧐 #WineStorage #WineCellars #WineCollection #WineStorageSolutions
