4808kg CO2eq. per kg of ingredient is a lot. ROSE FLOWER OIL has a nice, bucolic sound to it, but it's extreeemely polluting. As a point of reference, GLYCERIN, the most common cosmetic ingredient, hovers around 3kg CO2eq per kg. Even trace amounts of this essential oil can greatly increase your product's carbon footprint. All's not lost though for flower oil users. Our analysis shows that a wide range of environmental impact possible; our simulations showed a minimum value of under 2000kg CO2eq. while the maximum simulated value was nearly 14000kg CO2eq. per kg of ROSE FLOWER OIL. Read on Quentin Carayon's post to see more, and reach out to Fairglow.fr if you need your cosmetic carbon footprint analysed!
With no exageration, this is a little revolution. 30 000 emission factors for cosmetics ingredients: this is what Fairglow science & tech now allows. Here is an example of how we proceed for a typical extract. The calculations displayed in this paper were fully automated by our techology. Inspiring right ? Again, this is a little revolution. Thrilled about our feature in CIRCLE magazine - a German language mag on Sustainability. What AIZOME does isn't always clear to everyone. Our textiles are free from any ingredients we can't specifically name, which makes us quite unique. Unfortunately, there are no clear legal guidelines on which chemicals are acceptable and which aren't, and many brands prefer not to know the details. The fact is: synthetic dyes (used in most textiles) are made from the same chemicals as plastic. When brands claim their synthetically dyed products are bio, that's greenwashing. AIZOME shows there's a better way. With patented processes and technology, and a growing number of fans, customers, and independent journalists, we're incredibly proud and grateful. Attached is the article from CIRCLE – very nicely written! #AIZOME #Sustainability #Innovation #EcoFriendly #TextileIndustry

The planet is in need of initiatives that use biotechnology, in our industry, they represent the future of sustainability. GLITCH firmly believes these initiatives not only demonstrate an environmental commitment and pave the way for a more ethical and responsible industry. By leveraging biotechnology, brands can reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, minimize environmental degradation, and contribute to the creation of a circular economy. We encourage you to try unlocked innovations like mushroom leather and bioengineered dyes, two examples of the transformative potential of biotechnology in fashion. Image Credits: Alessandro Tondolo - The brand’s latest collection UNATIO ADUNATIO is Latin for “union” or “uniting” and keeps the natural world and sustainability at the forefront of the collection. Tondolo uses organic forms and the form of fungi as design inspiration. #biotechnology #sustainability

Have you ever seen plastic made from ocean waste that is 100% recyclable? WOW... What an incredible project that was. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit the company AION in Oslo, Norway. Over the course of two days, we produced a ton of videos, including interviews, moods, B-Roll, and product photos. With all this material, I returned to Germany and created an image film, along with numerous animations and content, to help them spread their message more effectively. AION creates plastic from ocean plastic waste that is 100% recyclable and customizes individual products to meet their customers' unique needs. But don't just take my word for it—watch the final image film for yourself :) Stay tuned for more updates from this and other projects. If you need professional videos and content for your company, feel free to contact me here or on our website at www.turning-heads.de. We look forward to working with you! 😊 #imagefilm #videoproduction #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #videomarketing #climatechange #sustainability #gogreen #renewableenergy #savetheplanet #celebratechange #ecofriendly #greentechfestival #sustainable #togetherwechange #sustainableliving #future #green #climate #climateaction #biodiversity #climatecrisis #architecture #environment #innovation #nature #greenawards #climateemergency #greentech #inharmonywithnature #malaysia #slowliving #zerowastedesign #design #AION #CircularEconomy #Plastics #Sustainability #PlasticWasteSolutions #InnovativeSolutions #GreenFuture #EnvironmentalImpact #SustainabilityJourney

Check out an engaging conversation 🎙️ between our CEO Simardev Gulati and Arthur Zaczkiewicz, MSW of WWD on #circularity and #sustainability in the fashion industry! 👗 Sim explains how Bloom Labs’s #bioengineering technology 🧪 makes business sense for the #fashion and #materials industries moving towards the #circulareconomy at speed and scale. ♻️ Bloom Labs harnesses #protein from agricultural 🚜 #waste streams – a resource weighing in at 15 billion lbs per year and increasing at 7% CAGR 📈 – to create drop-in, #natural, #sustainable replacements for conventional, polluting fibers like #silk, #cashmere, and #polyester. 🧵 💹 Why does Bloom Labs’s fiber make business sense? 1️⃣ Using waste material means Bloom’s fibers are cost-competitive with common #fibers and create #value along the entire #supplychain. 2️⃣ Bloom’s technology can integrate with existing #manufacturing infrastructure – namely melt extrusion and melt spinning – so it’s highly #scalable. ➡️ Key takeaway - In order to achieve sustainability and scalability in the fashion industry, innovators need to create technologies that make business sense throughout the value chain. 💡 Thank you Arthur and WWD for facilitating a necessary conversation.
