Through our This Way ONward partnership with Old Navy, Boys & Girls Clubs are helping teens take their first steps into the workforce by providing job readiness training, exposure to retail careers, and the opportunity to apply for part-time and seasonal roles at local Old Navy stores. This program focuses on empowering teens who may have never held a job before. By building confidence, gaining valuable skills, and preparing for future opportunities, This Way ONward is improving job access and helping teens invest their earnings toward significant milestones, like college or other personal goals. Together with Old Navy, we’re committed to giving youth the tools to succeed and shaping the leaders of tomorrow, in support of Old Navy's goal to reach 20,000 youth by 2025. 🌟💼 Learn more: https://bit.ly/3YWYT8Q

Our partnerships with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of America are what enable and mobilize our youth-focused opportunity program This Way ONward. Together, we're able to offer experiences that support workforce readiness and pathways to first jobs. 75% of BGCA teens have held part-time jobs in the past year, with 40% crediting their local club for finding the opportunity. And our own data shows that This Way ONward participants exhibit longer job tenures and higher engagement scores than their peers at Old Navy. This week on "A Quick Walk with Brent Williams," I was joined by Jim Hudson, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. Jim spent a day as Executive in Residence at the Walton College, and we took a walk around campus to discuss his insights on building a strong talent pipeline, and the importance of a customer-centric approach. We also touched on the exciting opportunities available for young professionals at DFA, both for long-term careers and shorter-term rotations.

There are thousands of jobs waiting to be filled in the state of Indiana. However, 60% of executives, directors, and managers stated that recent college grads are unprepared for the workforce. With programs like Pathways to Purpose, Elevate aims to change this by offering students the skills and experiences they need to thrive in their post-secondary placement. Whether they choose college, career, or military, we provide life skills training, vision trips, and college & career mentoring so our students can enter their next chapter confident and capable. Check out more on this and other aspects of Elevate’s missional work in our 2024 Annual Report. The Annual Report was released on Tuesday in both print and digital format (https://lnkd.in/gdYUiUQG).

It's that time of year... Career Planning time!!! 👩💼 👨💼 Following our annual review process, our employees dive into career planning with their line manager. It's an opportunity to use the extensive feedback from the annual review process to set new goals and plan for the future. By engaging Tonka Learning, Worrells ensures that our leaders have the skills to partner with their team in this important piece. #CareerConversations #CareerFocused #CareerPlanning #Development #WorrellsVic
Last week we partnered with Worrells to prep both the Principal and Manager groups ahead of their career development conversations with staff. We covered a range of topics including working with staff with different ambitions, giving voice to the conversation, attributes of learning leaders and maintaining focus throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who attended. Special mention to Amanda Hanna and Georgie Harrison for shining a spotlight on such an important development opportunity.

Proud to share that our team secured a rank of 155 in the Amazon ML Challenge, starting strong but facing an unexpected turn on the final day. 📉 From holding rank 18, we saw a surge of new team submissions jump from 300 to 2700+ in just the last hours! While this sudden shift was devastating and unbelievable, we’re still incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and problem-solving skills we demonstrated throughout the competition. 💪 Sometimes the results don’t reflect the effort, but the journey itself has been a tremendous learning experience, and we’ve grown both as individuals and as a team. On to the next challenge! 🚀 #MachineLearning #AmazonMLChallenge #LearningJourney #Teamwork #DataScience #KeepPushing #GrowthMindset
Glad to share that our team secured the 𝟭𝟱𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 out of the 𝟮,𝟰𝟯𝟴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 that participated in the 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗟 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! While we aren’t at the top, I’m proud of the efforts we put in and what we’ve achieved. Big thanks to my teammates Ashish Jha, Saksham Gera, and Auritra Dey for their inputs and support throughout the process. The problem statement pushed us to think unconventionally and make the best use of our knowledge and resources. It was a great learning experience and a rewarding opportunity to represent our college on a national level, competing against some incredibly talented teams across the country. Looking forward to applying what we’ve learned and doing even better in future challenges. #machinelearning #hackathon #amazon
