Gujarat Gas Limited and GUJARAT LIVELIHOOD PROMOTION COMPANY LTD (GLPC) along with implementation partner BharatCares and Technical Partner IMPAct4Nutrition (I4N) Platform (incubated by UNICEF India and 16 partners), are proud to champion women’s economic independence through the Micro Enterprise Development Program, a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs in the Nandod Block of Narmada District, Gujarat. So far, 150 women have completed a 9-day intensive training in Entrepreneurship Development, Financial Literacy, and Digital Literacy, equipping them with the skills to succeed. In addition to this, GLPC’s Micro Enterprise Development Program takes a holistic approach by enhancing awareness of nutrition with sessions sponsored by technical partner, IMPAct4Nutrition, focused on women’s health and nutrition. These sessions cover crucial topics like the need to prioritise a balanced diet, the importance of a protein-rich diet, how to incorporate locally available fruits and vegetables into meals, and much more. Empowering women to lead healthy lives as they build successful businesses. Empowering Rural Talent: A Path to Sustainable Development India’s rural youth, especially those from farming communities, possess a wealth of natural skills—identifying plants, managing livestock, pest control, composting, and even heavy labor tasks like stacking and loading. However, these invaluable skills often go unrecognized due to the lack of formal certification, leaving them with limited opportunities for employment or entrepreneurship. To address this gap, institutions like NIPHM Hyderabad, MANAGE, and NIRDPR must step in to certify these skills, provide hands-on training, and offer financial support for startups in rural areas. By doing so, we can turn these underutilized talents into drivers of economic growth.
