Recent advancements in GenAI are transforming document classification in clinical research. At AI STAC in New York on December 10th, Nataraj Dasgupta, VP Engineering at Syneos Health and former technologist at a major bank, will present a novel methodology for auto-classifying clinical trial documents using GenAI. He will demonstrate how this approach, which combines contextual RAG, fine-tuned models, and prompt optimization with columnar databases and highly parallel processing, is achieving a remarkable 1000x reduction in both time and cost during initial testing. And he’ll discuss its applicability in finance. 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/eUSdEW7P

How do we design better drugs and materials with AI? Unlocking novel generative capabilities with diffusion via “loop guidance”! In our upcoming NeurIPS paper (with Giangiacomo Mercatali, Yogesh Verma, Andre Freitas), we show how a novel framework “Diffusion Twigs” (resembling multiple offshoots from a tree) opens extremely promising avenues for inverse molecular design and molecular optimization (fundamental tasks in de-novo drug discovery, material design, etc.). In contrast to the standard classifier-free and classifier-based guidance techniques, the proposed loop guidance approach is naturally tailored to hierarchical modeling, providing finer control over generation. Nataraj Dasgupta recently told me about a new approach, leveraging AI, to classifying clinical documents in pharma that shrank 1000 hours of labour to just 1 hour. Turns out the technique could also be applied to documents in the financial industry, so I asked him to come and share his insights at the upcoming AI STAC conference in New York 👇

Life sciences are going through an incredible transformation, where omics sciences like genomics and proteomics are giving us a window into life’s deepest layers. It’s like we’re reading the molecular code that makes us who we are—health, disease, everything. But with so much data pouring in, traditional tools can’t keep up. That’s where high-performance computing (HPC) and AI come in, turning this overwhelming data into powerful insights that could totally reshape our understanding of health and medicine.
