One significant change I would advocate for in our supervision system is a shift towards a more rehabilitative and supportive approach. Rather than focusing solely on surveillance and punishment, I believe our supervision system should prioritize rehabilitation, providing individuals with the resources and support they need to successfully reintegrate into society. By investing in rehabilitation and support services, we can help individuals address these root causes and reduce the likelihood of reoffending. Additionally, I would advocate for greater flexibility and individualized approaches within the supervision system. Recognizing that each person's circumstances and needs are unique, supervision plans should be tailored to the individual, taking into account factors such as family support, employment opportunities, and access to community resources. Overall, by shifting towards a more rehabilitative and individualized approach, our supervision system has the potential to not only improve outcomes for individuals under supervision but also enhance public safety and promote long-term community well-being.
