BREAKING: in response to complaints of 'free demos are stomping on paid games in the New & Trending charts', Steam splits out a new 'Trending Free' tab on https://lnkd.in/gcEvqw7V, and moves all new & free hotness over there. (That's pretty responsive of Steam, and probably pre-empts a lot of plans people had to e.g. put out post-release demos for extra visibility. Though they can still do that and get into a 'trending' chart, it just won't be in the first tab when you load Steam.)

Delta Force just hit 118,000. They did it by: 1. Free to play. Its a strong strategy in this era of live service games flooding the market. 2. Listening to the audience. Theyve clearly gone hard after the Battlefield market, and they are delivering. 3. Launching when BF is in a development slump. The audience is desperate for a game to "fill the gap" They arent through it yet, they still have work to do to stabilize and enhance their anti-cheat, but they are on the right path...
