May we introduce: RobocutPlus 🙌 – our new colleague in our macro production. In combination with our wire erosion machine from Häberle Feinmechanik CNC-Technik GmbH the robot now enables fully automated erosive dressing of our grinding wheels. 🤖 Previously, this part was done manually by our production employee Franz. When you start your own business, you realize that it is going to be you doing everything. What you don't realize is how much time everything may take! As part of our hunt for better at BetterCNC, we're working with Kurt Middelkoop with TMAC to scour the shop looking for opportunities for improvement. A big part of making improvements is finding a way to recognize how much you are improving! So starting a few weeks ago, we've started tracking different metrics through the business to get a more solid idea of our efficiency. One of those metrics is how often am I getting pulled away from the machines without them running! In the few weeks we've been tracking, I'm already starting to get some insight efficiency opportunities within the business. The first time I walked into Bobby’s shop, I was in awe, mesmerized by his hand made 1935 Ford with chopped roof. He taught me the basics of sheet metal shaping, and I even brought the Machina team to his shop to experience it firsthand. Now, hearing Bobby; true master of sheet shaping; say that Machina Labs and robots are the future of manufacturing is deeply humbling. As one of his students, it means the world.
