𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐀 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 Ever heard of AMR? It's short for antimicrobial resistance, and it's a pretty big deal right now. Basically, it means that some germs are getting smarter. They're learning how to shrug off the antibiotics we throw at them, making infections tougher to beat. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a pressing global health crisis that poses a significant threat to human health, food security, and economic development. It occurs when microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, develop the ability to resist the effects of antimicrobial drugs. This means that the drugs that were once effective in treating infections are no longer as potent, making infections more difficult to treat and potentially leading to more severe outcomes.
