Cycling – a simple idea. But the impact? Huge! Take a look at the figures below: 🚲 On average, 77% of people cycle for transport in the Netherlands. 🚲 Cycling is the fourth most popular recreational activity in the United States, with over 40 million participants in 2017. 🚲 Over 50% of people in China use bicycles as their main mode of transportation. Jackfruit Adventure takes its inspiration from various corners of the world. Although cycling may seem like an activity that solely benefits individuals, the inclusion of cycling activities in team building programs or the implementation of internal cycling programs within businesses unveils its wider significance. Beyond improving the health of employees, it also serves as a catalyst for increased team productivity and the development of strong teamwork. Let's tighten our helmets and get ready to devour miles, together 🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ #teamwork #corporatewellness #employeeengagement #workplaceculture #travel #tourism #destination #vietnam #hochiminhcity #southeastasia #cycling #pedals

🚴♀️ Cycling Safety: The More, The Safer? 🚴♂️ In many countries, cycling becomes safer as more people take to the roads on bikes 🚲—the "safety in numbers" effect. But in places with extremely high cycling rates, like Denmark and the Netherlands 🇩🇰🇳🇱, new research shows that safety can plateau or even decline without continuous improvements. To keep cyclists safe, we need more, better, and wider cycle paths 🛤️. Investing in safe cycling infrastructure is key to supporting a thriving and sustainable cycling culture. 🌱 Sustainable Cycling Initiatives: Cycling for a Greener Tomorrow! Many cities around the world are increasingly investing in cycling infrastructure to promote sustainable transport and reduce carbon emissions. For example: Copenhagen has become a model for bike-friendly cities, with over 390 kilometers of dedicated bike lanes and initiatives like the "Copenhagenize" project, which aims to make cycling the most attractive mode of transport. Amsterdam is known for its extensive cycling network, including bike parking facilities, bike-sharing programs, and traffic calming measures that prioritize cyclists' safety. Portland, Oregon, has introduced initiatives like "Bike Share" programs and community cycling events to encourage residents to choose biking over driving. These efforts not only make cycling safer but also promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce traffic congestion. 💡 Did You Know? Studies show that for every 1% increase in cycling, cities can see a reduction of up to 0.3% in traffic congestion! #SustainableTransport #Seatylock #GreenCycling #UrbanMobility

The public participation processes for the draft Walking and Cycling Strategy and the draft Universal Access (UA) Policy for an Accessible Transport System are officially opened for public comment. The City needs to adopt a bold shift towards active mobility, particularly walking and cycling. Walking and cycling not only reduces congestion and environmental impact but also plays a critical role in supporting public transport systems. On the other hand, due to the important role of public transport in providing people access to social and economic opportunities and associated services, it is important that accessibility be addressed. The comment period for the draft UA Policy for an Accessible Transport System will run until the 13th of December and the draft Walking and Cycling Strategy will run until the 14th of December 2024. Watch as Councillor Mikhail Manuel and Councillor Rob Quintas share insights on how these two processes can enhance mobility and sustainability in our City. Head over to the Have Your Say page at https://lnkd.in/drTgKR35 to provide your feedback. Your input is essential! #WalkandCycleCT #UniversalAccess #UrbanMobilityCT https://lnkd.in/dt8MDdf8

European cities are taking steps to reward cycling with projects like Bike2Green in which you attach a sensor kit to your bicycle and get shopping vouchers for the distance traveled, with higher rewards for cycling trips to school and work. In Taiwan, the publicly funded bikeshare YouBike launched the Carbon Reduction Passbook app 2 weeks ago which records users' carbon reduction data based on their YouBike rides and allows them to accumulate credits to exchange for prizes at Giant or partner stores. Looking forward to a project like Bike2Green that would include the large majority of Taiwanese riders who prefer their own bikes: in 2023 2.1% of commuters in Taipei City rode their personal bicycles while 1% used YouBikes, the only available bikeshare. https://lnkd.in/ga4cYJWp
