If you add up sports ⚽, education 👩🏫 and social engagement 💚, the result is a German initiative called Anpfiff ins Leben (which can be translated as "Kick-off to life"). As a charitable organization, "Anpfiff ins Leben" is committed to supporting young people on their individual development and #career path. 🚀 In summer, Bilfinger became an official sponsor and partner of the charitable initiative to further underscore our dedication to supporting #YoungTalents in their career choices. 💪 This week, we kicked off our joint efforts with the first Career Orientation Day hosted at our headquarters in Mannheim, Germany. 🎉 The event invited young individuals from the initiative's network to get practical insights and learn about the various opportunities for starting their careers with us. 💬👀 Taking the first step into your career can feel challenging - but together with #AnpfiffinsLeben, we will- continue to provide perspectives and encouragement. ✨

Last week I was left feeling bittersweet after attending Resurgo's 2023 impact report with my fellow Spear ambassador Victoria Evans (pictured). It was fantastic to hear from the panel of trainees who have completed The Spear Programme and the way has turned their lives around as well as inspire them to want to give back to future generations. It was also great to hear from the corporate sponsors that help ensure the organisation can continue doing the brilliant work they do and why they feel it's important. But at the end of the day there was one rather daunting figure shared that we need to contend with. There are currently 850,000 young people who are not currently in education, employment or training in the UK at the moment. Meaning that despite the more than 9000 people the programme has helped since it's inception 20 years ago all the work is still ahead. A silver lining I was pleased to see however, is that Resurgo are just as determined to meet that challenge now as they were when I walked through their doors back in 2015. I was jobless, apathetic to the world and lacking any self belief but thanks to the coaching I received that I still draw from to this day, I can take pride in having build a career and remaining in regular employment for the 9 years since. The Spear programme can change peoples lives by helping them overcome their personal barriers through professional coaching and employability skills, but it needs funding to continue running and expand to more cities across the UK in order to have any hope of impacting the above figure. Therefore Victoria and I will be taking on the Three Peaks challenge in September, and we are fundraising for the Resurgo Trust which developed and delivers the programme so they continue that extremely important work. Link to fundraising page will be commented below and if you want to read the impact report you can find it here: https://lnkd.in/eriw2_Hp Would encourage to you to share any comments or interesting learnings from the report, and if you spot either of these goons in a photo, leave the page number in the comments! #YouthUnemployment #Coaching #Impact #CSR #Fundraising

So as we end the Chinese Year celebrating the Dragon, its strength resilience and forceful nature we plan to enter the year of the snake:- Let’s look forward to a more calming but productive year to all in business and personal lives. 🫶 My planning for this year is growth within my first year at Backdrop Promotions and also my sustainability within Merit Insulation Supplies as as a shareholder, of the business Nick Pope established. I have learnt support in life and business is key- so use fellow business people/ friends for support and progress. The past year entering the full time working world has been challenging but rewarding and the involvement within Nicks legacy is gratified. Backdrop Promotions have given me the confidence to pursue my journey within business. Sending good wishes to all in business this coming Chinese New Year and also some fantastic celebrations on the horizon from this weekend 🎉 🐍 2025: The Year of the Wood Snake — What to Expect From January 29, 2025, to February 16, 2026, we’ll be basking in the energy of the Wood Snake. This combo of the Snake’s subtle vibes and the Wood element’s creative and flexible energy is a recipe for growth and transformation. Think of it like this: Just like a Snake sheds its skin, 2025 is a year for us to let go of what’s holding us back. It’s the perfect time to start fresh — new projects, new habits, maybe even a whole new outlook on life. Whether it’s in your career, relationships, or personal goals, this is the year to level up. The Wood element adds a layer of adaptability and innovation, helping us find creative ways to solve problems and build something lasting. But, heads up — this year isn’t just about winging it. The Snake’s strategic nature means careful planning is key to making the most of all this potential. #backdroppromotions #bid4charities #fundraising #charity Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Ellis Adams-Freeman

Hello LinkedIn community! 😄 I'm excited to share that I will be joining the Calling Cape Town Extreme Challenge on 09 March 2025 in a team effort to raise awareness and funds for Calling Education and its mission to better education within South Africa through provision of top-quality education to low-income communities. 📚 What does Calling Education stand for? Seeking to bring inspiration within the South African education landscape, Calling Education brings an authentically Christian ethos position into modern society with personal mentoring and cutting-edge educational initiatives. This initiative seeks to generate hope for students and their families at a time when our country so desperately needs it. Read more on the Calling Education story here: https://lnkd.in/dQG9jurK. So what is the Calling Cape Town Extreme Challenge?! This Challenge comprises the most iconic swim-bike-run event – 208 km ALL within 24 hours! 1. Swim – Robben Island Crossing 8 km 🏊♂️ 2. Cycling – Cape Town Cycle Tour 109 km 🚴♂️ 3. Run – Three Peaks Challenge Route 50 km 🏃♀️➡️ To get a view of what the day will entail, here is a video from last year’s event: https://lnkd.in/dameff3t Why would someone do this?! Good question!! To stand in support of Calling Education and to demonstrate hope for change in our country’s educational landscape … one learner at a time! How can you get involved?! No need to sign up for the physical challenge of course, but you can get involved in the following ways: 1. First, Spread the word! Tell those you know about the vision and growth of this initiative. 2. Second, Donate to Calling Education – a public benefit organisation! Donations are officially open for the Calling Cape Town Challenge 2025, and ‘Trail Mixers’ team (myself 🏊🏻♀️ 🏃🏽♀ & Alistair Galloway 🚴🏼♂️) are keen to raise significant funds for this incredible cause. Please find the links below to our team members' official donation pages (Section 18A tax certificates are available). 💵 Tayla Hobson: https://lnkd.in/dS3n4s34 Alistair Galloway: https://lnkd.in/dm4Fipr4 Be part of a movement that transforms lives through education, where learners are encouraged to “make every effort to confirm their callings” in accordance with the school verse 2 Peter 1:10. Whether you participate or support from the sidelines, your contribution will pave the way for brighter futures. ☀️ 🙏

Here is this week's edition of your MUST KNOW connections to grow your network personally and professionally. First up is Charity Baird with Comparion Insurance Agency I've known her for a long time but only recently were we able to sip on coffee. She's a go getter and I'm excited to see what she accomplishes in her new role in sales. If you don't know Charity she's right up there with most selfies taken at events in the metro so you for sure have seen her on social media promoting events and organizations over the years. Next is Marcus Lunning with iJAG (Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates). My family is filled with teachers across the state and the work that iJAG does across the state to support students to get them career and professionally ready for the workforce is a game changer. After being connected for awhile Marcus and I were finally able to connect in real life and talk about how to we better serve our youth to set them up for future success. Last, but definitely not least, is Michael Krist with North Risk Partners. Another young guy who I would see all over and our paths would always cross around town but finally we were able to connect. Love his drive and hustle and excited to see his passion to serve people. Look forward to working together for a long time to help build a better tomorrow for the DSM metro. I'll say it again: MAKE SURE TO MAKE EFFORTS TO MEET YOUR #LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS. They are so beneficial to life and business. Connect with these people. Get to know these people. Promote these people. Together we can change the world. #promotepeoplenotproducts #dsmusa #reppdesmoines #networking #jacobfromlinkedin #businessdevelopment #youngprofessionals
