On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, our community will vote on two referendum questions. Question #1 is an operating referendum of $424 per pupil unit. An approved operating levy would have an impact of $130 per year (or $10.83 per month) on a home with an assessed value of $250,000 in our community. Question #2 is a $30 million facility bond referendum to address our deferred maintenance needs. An approved bond would have NO TAX IMPACT on district residents. This is possible due to other district bond levies ending. Learn more and find answers to FAQs: https://lnkd.in/gVAh3PWE

This review covers events that occurred between 4 December 2022 and 2 February 2024. The review did not examine the TCF’s general grant administration processes. EVENT: Join us for an insightful discussion on the legacy of the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum It’s been 10 years since the referendum, and yet, no one has told the full story about the deep challenges it created for Whitehall and how the system responded. This pivotal moment risks fading into forgotten history—a one-off event. However, the referendum revealed much about the British state and its vulnerabilities. If we ignore its lessons, we may be forced to relearn them in an unpredictable and potentially volatile future. In opposition, the Labour Party acknowledged some of the critical issues threatening the UK’s democratic infrastructure and territorial cohesion. With a majority now, they have the capacity to address these challenges. But will they have the boldness to invest their political capital in improving the governance of the country? The lessons of 2014 offer some guidance, but whether they are ready to act is still in question. 🗣️ Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the full story from Philip Rycroft, former DExEU permanent secretary, in conversation with Peter Geoghegan, author & journalist. The reason for the loss of the VOICE referendum in 2023 is the reason that a #Voice to parliament for first nations peoples is necessary in Australia - that the national broadcaster itself fails to provide a voice for first nations peoples on exactly those issues that require it. It is clear that the wealthy landowners of Australia, the mining corporations, and their sycophants who do not for one minute benefit from such economic power and are even exploited for their support, are motivated by needing to dominate first nations peoples. #racialprejudice #invasion #colonialism https://lnkd.in/g75dB7x2
