📊 EUROCONTROL’s latest traffic forecast for 2024–30 is out, projecting a robust recovery in European air traffic, reaching pre-pandemic levels next year and 12 million flights by 2030.   ✈️ Even with current traffic levels, many ERA member airlines faced challenges this past summer, including severe ATC delays and cancellations, which heavily impacted connectivity and prevented regional airlines from operating at their full potential.   🔧 As we look to the future, collaboration with key stakeholders to accelerate ATM modernisation is critical. Together, we must ensure that as demand grows, our systems are ready to deliver smooth, efficient and reliable connectivity for all passengers across Europe.   #ThinkRegional #WeAreERA #ATM

Not just a ‘license to grow’, but a license to survive - timely words uttered by Franck Le Gall of Groupe ADP speaking about the future of aviation in #Paris 🇫🇷 during todays European ATM Master Plan SESAR project round table. By summer 2024, SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking will publish its updated #ATM masterplan, last updated in 2019, expect to see: 1. A focus on timing and performance instead of delay reduction. 2. Predictably linked to #seamlesstravel 3. An emphasis on safety, supported by EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency 4. Moving from theory to practice, clear actions which can be applied by ATM decision makers to benefit #airspace network capacity. 5. #Autonomousvehicles and their efficiency gains on airport airside operations. 6. Human centric processes #HMI must not be forgotten when applying automation and AI solutions. 7. Investment planning, public financing guidelines and KPI’s to steer project selection. We continue to hear it, but it’s true, collaboration across the ATM European and global air traffic nextwork will continue to be the key driver to effective change. Julia E.
