Reflecting on Apple's Journey Post-Steve Jobs: Quality Concerns and Innovations It's been over a decade since the passing of Steve Jobs, and Apple's trajectory has been a topic of much discussion. While the company has continued to thrive financially and expand its product line, there have been notable concerns regarding the quality of updates and innovations. One of the most significant issues was the problematic launch of iOS 6's Maps, which led to a public apology from Tim Cook. This incident highlighted the challenges Apple faced in maintaining the high standards set by Jobs. Additionally, recent years have seen emergency software fixes, such as those addressing the #Pegasus spyware, raising questions about the robustness of Apple's security measures. Despite these challenges, Apple has also made strides in other areas. The introduction of new products like the Apple Watch and the expansion of services have shown that the company can still innovate. However, the shift towards incremental updates and a growing focus on subscription services has led some to question whether Apple has lost its edge. As we reflect on Apple's journey, it's clear that the legacy of Steve Jobs continues to influence the company's direction. While there have been bumps along the way, Apple's commitment to innovation and quality remains a core part of its identity. #Apple #SteveJobs #Innovation #TechUpdates #QualityControl #iOS #TechIndustry #SoftwareDevelopment #TimCook #AppleWatch #TechTrends #ProductLaunch #CyberSecurity #TechCommunity

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has sounded a "high-risk" warning for Apple device owners, including those using iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and Vision Pro headsets. The advisory is spurred by a critical vulnerability detected across various Apple products, leaving users susceptible to "remote code execution." This alarming vulnerability spans a spectrum of Apple software and hardware, exposing devices to potential exploitation by remote attackers, who can execute arbitrary code on targeted systems. Well, there you have it! Another year, another Apple WWDC Keynote checked off the list! 🚀✨ There are too many changes and new features to list, but here are a few of my favourites! - New AirPod Pro gestures: Shake your head to say no to Siri! - Mirror your iPhone to your Mac - New design controls and app icons for iOS - A fresh design for control center for iOS - A new photos app - iMessage formatting - Transcribing for phone call - Hide and lock apps - Scheduled iMessages - New Mail features and categories Plus, hundreds of other tweaks and changes. The two things I’m MOST excited about though; 🔑 A new dedicated password app: While it might not replace enterprise-level solutions, anything that helps consumers create and store secure passwords and passkeys is a win in my book! 🤖 Apple Intelligence: In true Apple style, they might not be the first to market with this, but you know they’ll implement it in a way that just works. More to come out of this week, with sessions detailing new features for managing the latest macOS (Sequoia) within business environments. We'll be following this closely! More updates to follow! 💻 #WWDC2024 #AppleEvent #MacOSSequoia #iOS18 #AppleIntelligence -------- 👋 I’m Bill, the founder of Level Ten, and a bit of an Apple geek. 👨💻 We use IT & Technology to help creative brands thrive. 🤙 Managed IT Support, Cyber Security, IT Optimisation, Process Automation.

NSA Mobile Device Best Practices (2024). "Power the device off and on weekly." "Update the device software and applications as soon as possible." I don't know about anybody else's experience, but I have never found the auto update feature on my iPhone and iPad to do so in an expeditious manner. In short, I do not trust the devices to do so. I trust me more than I trust auto-updates. - Every weekday, at about 1345 hours, I check for an iOS software update. If I see one for the iPhone, then I immediately check iPad and Macs. iPhone updates also often mean watchOS needs to be updated as well. - Every morning, when I get up, I check for apps that need to be updated. I also do so about 1500 hours every afternoon. #cybersecurity #cybersecurityawareness
