Struggles of Unique Coding in BIM—and How to Conquer Them Raising the digitalisation level requires changes.   No change comes without additional hassle and effort.   Objects’ unique coding gives many possibilities but also has requirements to fulfil.     1. Creating correct values Manual or cumbersome process to encode objects in models. Solution: Create a coding script or deploy a database solution. 2. Data validation process Additional complex values to check. Software missing functionality. Solution: Create data validation rule templates and automate the checking process. 3. Maintaining data consistency and uniqueness Maintaining complex values across multiple systems used in the construction process is hard. Solution: Connect systems using automated processes or within a dashboard. 4. Late design changes Late design changes that disrupt the construction process. Solution: Introduce a rigid change process and limit the personnel allowed to implement changes.   Interested?
