BIM is not for everybody, but since AI and machine learning were brought as a seamless trend into the construction industry, it became quite obvious - everything is possible now with BIM. How does it work? AI algorithms are often used to analyze BIM data to predict when maintenance is needed, reducing costs. Nowadays, Machine learning optimizes building designs and helps keep up with energy efficiency trends, costs, and sustainability. Specially developed AI can detect and resolve clashes in BIM models. As a BIM manager, I also appreciate the integration between AI and BIM for real-life projects, which helps big companies with project management, improving scheduling, allocating resources to a position they are mostly needed, and decision-making. Here’s a brief list of software solutions that may be useful for your BIM tasks. AI Clearing - AI-powered construction progress monitoring and development tracking. Ailytics - video analytics for operational safety & productivity AVVIR - automated risk analysis for construction with schedule tracking, cost and earned value analysis, installation issue detection, etc. Disperse - tracks, and monitors whether the pace of work is increasing, decreasing, or is it steady in each unit, and if the rate of issues are being closed. Autodesk Revit with Spacemaker software uses AI to optimize design for energy efficiency, sunlight, and wind flow. TestFit uses AI to optimize real estate site plans within BIM. Revizto uses AI to enhance clash detection and issue tracking. Autodesk Generative Design in Revit uses AI to create design iterations based on specified criteria. Smartvid.io uses AI to analyze BIM data for safety hazards. OpenSpace uses AI to compare BIM models with as-built conditions for quality assurance. Do you know any of these software solutions? What are the main use case of AI when you work with BIM ? I recently participated in a BIM coordinators conference BIM Coordinators Summit and committed to make a presentation on how AI can save time and make BIM simpler. I've just made another version in French (with English subtitle) on YouTube, so please watch it! 🇫🇷 En français : https://lnkd.in/eeZyhFwF 🇺🇸 In english https://lnkd.in/e2BzGZfd But if you don't have time for that, here is the summary : 👉 AI can be used to create custom assistant to help have a more consistent model and encourage best practice 👉 AI can help automate repetitive tasks like adding dimensions, renaming... and make the work of BIM manager much simpler and interesting 👉 AI can help make BIM more interoperable by automatically fixing the discrepancies between BIM software 👉 AI can help import 3D facets and point clouds into BIM parametric world 👉 AI can help you code a BIM plugin without you even need to know how to code 👉 AI can help you to test many solutions easily to choose the best one 👉 AI can help you optimize your design to achieve better performance 👉 AI can help you get realistic renders from the BIM model more quickly and test many variations of the design 👉 AI can help you to save money and predict failure of the building equipments to change them in time .... The usages of AI in BIM is quite wide, depending on where we use the term "BIM" and where it is another topic. Did I miss an important usage of BIM? Feel free to leave a comment :)

We’re so excited! Every day, we’re getting closer to the official launch of our platform, Nimbus AI, and we’re thrilled to share how our first tool, BIM TakeOff, is set to revolutionize the construction industry. What makes BIM TakeOff unique? Cloud-Based Technology: No downloads needed! All the technology runs directly in the cloud, accessible from any device with internet access. Automated Quantity Takeoffs: Extract precise data directly from BIM models, eliminating manual processes and reducing errors. AI-Powered Simplicity: No need to be a Revit expert or use complex software. Our AI is already working to make things simple. For example: 💬 "How much concrete is in the columns on Level 1?" ✔ Instant answers in seconds. Real-Time Updates: Costs and timelines automatically adjust whenever design changes occur, with no manual recalculations required. Accessible Design: Anyone can use it, regardless of technical expertise or BIM experience. What’s even more exciting is that Nimbus BIM TakeOff is powered by the support of NEXT AI, a leading business accelerator. Their guidance and resources have been instrumental in integrating AI into our platform, helping us create a tool that’s more innovative and impactful than ever. We know traditional tools like AutoCAD, Excel, or even some BIM solutions can be time-consuming and require extensive expertise. Nimbus BIM TakeOff is here to change that, making technology more accessible, efficient, and practical for everyone. Want to try it before the official launch? Be part of this transformation! Comment "TakeOff" below, and we’ll give you early access as one of our first adopters. With NEXT AI’s support and your feedback, we’re confident we can take the construction industry to the next level. What do you think? 👇 Chandan Sejekan, P.Eng., MBA Adán González Torres #NimbusAI #BIMTakeOff #NEXTAI #Innovation #Construction #Technology
