I've been working at SAS Brazil a dozen of years. #SASSoftware always was very competent in boost my curiosity. Everyone - mainly the newbies - that doesn't know the power of SAS or even its origins should have the opportunity to read this article: https://lnkd.in/dEDc6Puu From the technical point of view this time what surprised me was PROC OPSCAN. Come on! Read a magnetic tape and save the information in datasets! That's something to me. Back to early 70's of course we had all theoretical math tools but build-it is different. Processing Signals Analogic or Digital and the conversion between it is very common and cheap today but the math behind is not trivial. And from business point of view I always knew since SAS came into my life that its birth was related to agriculture. But this information that #SASSoftware was used and/or participated in iniciatives concerned with the effects of pesticide use back in early 70's is simply awesome! I believe that a software company like #SASSoftware which has always been involved in iniciatives concerned with people and community well-being since its beginning is ahead when discussions about Gen-AI and its Ethical usage are on the table.
Happy holidays from your friends at SAS! We wish you a season filled with joy, peace, and happiness 💙 ❄️

As we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival that marks new beginnings and the removal of obstacles, let’s draw inspiration from the teachings of Lord Ganesha and apply them to our professional lives: 1. Overcoming Obstacles: Just as Lord Ganesha is revered as Vighnaharta (the remover of obstacles), in the corporate world, we must learn to identify challenges early and address them with strategic thinking and collaboration. Effective problem-solving is key to growth. 2. Continuous Learning: Lord Ganesha is known as the god of wisdom and knowledge. In a rapidly changing business environment, continuous learning and upskilling are crucial. Staying ahead of industry trends and embracing innovation can set us apart. 3. Focus on Fundamentals: The large ears of Ganesha symbolize the importance of listening. In leadership and teamwork, listening to your clients, employees, and stakeholders can help make informed decisions and build trust. 4. Adaptability and Flexibility: The trunk of Lord Ganesha represents adaptability. Businesses must be agile and ready to pivot when necessary to stay relevant in a dynamic market. 5. Balance: Lord Ganesha’s large belly symbolizes the ability to digest all the good and bad in life. In the corporate world, maintaining a balance between work and life, profit and ethics, and short-term goals and long-term vision is essential. On this auspicious occasion, may Lord Ganesha bless you with wisdom, prosperity, and the ability to navigate challenges with grace and resilience. 🙏✨ Wishing you all a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi filled with new beginnings and success! Christmas time, holiday season, Yuletide, festivities, winter or summer holidays... Depending on where you are in the world, the period between late November and early January can be known by various names. Throughout history, multiple celebrations have taken place during this time of the year. Layouts of late Neolithic archaeological sites indicate that the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere was a special moment for some cultures. In ancient Rome, the Saturnalia festival honored the god of time with celebrations that lasted multiple days in December. Since the 19th and 20th centuries, as the economic impact involving the lead-up to Christmas Day grew in North America and Europe, the term "Christmas season" became known as a peak season for the retail sector and began to also encompass the days right before and after 25 December. Today, this holiday season begins in late November and runs until early January, including Advent, Christmas, New Year's Day, Hannukah, Yule, Kwanzaa, and more celebrations. In some traditions, Candlemas is the official end of the festivities, taking place on 2 February. Learn more about this period ➡️ https://w.wiki/67U4
