Insightful Seminar on Nanoparticle-Mediated Hyperthermia 🌐 We're excited to share highlights from a recent online seminar titled "Benefits of Local Hyperthermia Mediated by Nanoparticles Under NIR Irradiation," given by Dr. Francisco Jose Teran Teran from NANOTECH SOLUTIONS, Spain. This enlightening seminar took place online on June 28th and was attended by the entire STRIKE network. Dr. Teran provided an in-depth introduction to the use of nanoparticles to induce hyperthermia. A key focus was on the application of this technology in oncology, where it shows significant promise for targeting cancer cells more precisely, reducing side effects, and improving treatment efficacy both in vitro and in vivo. The seminar was organized to help us in STRIKE network to understand how to leverage this cutting-edge technology in our own research. The insights gained will be instrumental in advancing our studies and developing more effective treatments for osteosarcoma and other cancers. We are grateful for Dr. Teran's valuable insights and the opportunity to expand our knowledge on this topic. Looking forward to more such informative sessions! #Innovative #OpenSicence #research #HorizonEU #MSCA #Osteosarcoma #nanomaterials #nanomedicine #Nanotechnology #Hyperthermia #STRIKENetwork #Innovation

#Biology | 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 | Exciting new research conducted at ETH Zürich has achieved a groundbreaking discovery. Led by Professor Adam E. Moore, the team identified liver-derived constraints to metastasis that could inhibit the crucial interaction between plexin and semaphorin, thus preventing cancer cells from colonizing the liver and forming new tumors. The study was conducted through innovative in vivo interaction screening, allowing the researchers to scrutinize the relationships among cells within the cancer ecosystem. By identifying vulnerabilities in tumor metastases during the early stages of development, this research provides critical insights into the key period when metastases take root. 👉 Learn more >> https://lnkd.in/gNT2Tz6Z 👉 Original publication >> https://lnkd.in/gsFBWyjJ Photo: ETH Zurich / Morgan Roberts, Elena Guido Vinzoni 🇨🇭 Follow #ScienceSwitzerland for the latest news and emerging trends on Swiss science, technology, education, and innovation >> www.swissinnovation.org Follow us >> Science-Switzerland #Science | #Education | #Research | #Innovation
