Last week, dedicated Arva scientific team, consisting of Sergey Seryy (Head of R&D) and Volodymyr Harkavenko (Sustainability Division Manager), participated at the “BioRem" workshop (a part of the project "Between Europe and the Orient - A Focus on Research and Higher Education in Central Asia and the Caucasus") at the Research Centre for BioSystems, Land Use and Nutrition (iFZ) at Justus Liebig University Giessen. It was a very interesting experience for us to present reports highlighting our industrial superoxidation solutions for the disposal of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and petroleum hydrocarbons, as well as to discuss ways to address current issues in pollution analytics for remediation projects. Arva Greentech's approaches to environmentally sounded soil remediation received high praise from the scientific community. Expert comments helped identify further paths for the development and implementation of technologies. As a result of the discussions, it became evident that the development of industrial projects in the modern world according to the principles of sustainability can only be realised by involving academic science and transferring academic knowledge into technological solutions. The experience accumulated in academic institutions should become a new driver for the development of the industry, enriching it with promising solutions and new concepts. We are grateful for our scientific consultant Elbay Babayev (PhD, PostDoc, Associate Professor) as well as Professor Rolf-Alexander Duering for the invitation. 🤝 #arvagreentech #remediation #arvox #sustainability #persistentorganicpollutants #POPs #bioremediation

Do you know that the Greentech Innovation Center (GTIC) of Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) stands out as a promising player in the #research of #bioactive plant molecules in Europe? Indeed, the GTIC houses a team of about 60 scientists dedicated to developing concepts in biologically-originated products and processes of industrial interest. Their primary focus is on #plantbased material, aiming to produce high-value molecules, particularly of interest in the cosmetics sector. Industrial partners, both in Luxembourg and abroad, operate in sectors such as #nutraceuticals , food colorants, or #antifungals for agriculture. The GTIC aims to bridge the gap between academic and #industrialresearch and has recently invested in a two-million-euro equipment line to have a concrete economic impact. It has positioned itself among the top in Europe in terms of equipment and knowledge, notably being part of a European consortium for research in the #cosmeticsindustry. The quick rise of this plant #biotechnology sector now attracts attention spontaneously from industrial players, proof of a growing recognition of its expertise. To further dive into the topic, you may be interested in discovering this illustrative technology developed by Sylvain Legay at our Plant Molecular Farming Group led by JEAN-FRANCOIS HAUSMAN, which was published on our Open Innovation Platform in collaboration with Research Luxembourg: Production of Triterpene-hydroxycinnamate From Apple Cell Suspension Culture 🍎 ✔️https://lnkd.in/ePwc6Y7S My colleagues Jenny Renaut, Lucie Pfaltzgraff & Sylvain Legay will be presenting the technology at the next BIOKET Bioeconomy Key Enabling Technologies platform Conference, an event at the interface of #technology and #sustainability to stimulate innovative businesses focused on the conversion of #biomass into high-value products. Another success story proudly #madeinluxembourg at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) !

🔎 IANUS’ #cocreation approach with BioArt Laboratories unveils what citizens think about #TrustInScience and what concerns scientists should acknowledge. 🔬 Participants included natural scientists and people with an interest in sustainable development. We probed perceptions of trustworthiness in cases of a) scientific activism b) policy advisory and c) collaborations with industry. 🌿 Participants showed favorable attitude toward scientists, with science being attributed a capacity to contribute to better governance and a better environment. However, participants also called for a less technological approach when dealing with the present ecological crisis. 🌟 Value-related influences discussed by the participants emphasized that, while is good (reliable, solid), personal values or external interests can affect research already in its conception. This shows citizens' complex understanding of scientific life and their struggle to reconcile the impact of social context on scientific practice. Read more here 👇 https://lnkd.in/gzM_Er_D

At the end of 2020, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs published the Zukunft.Bioökonomie.Bayern. strategy in close cooperation with various partners. 🤝 This is a detailed #bioeconomy strategy that sets out 50 specific measures for the transformation towards a sustainable, innovative and organic way of life and economy. Three years later, a balance sheet has been drawn up with a very satisfactory result: almost half, namely 24 measures, have already been completed and implemented in the economy/society. 🌱 A few important examples of this are networking through Bavarian clusters and cross-cluster initiatives, the establishment of the Green Fuel Center - a research centre for synthetic fuels and the transfer funding of Bavarian universities in the field of bioeconomy. 👏 How can projects be initiated in the bioeconomy and how can players be specifically networked across industries and sectors? To this end, cross-cluster projects were funded that focus on the development and establishment of bio-based value chains, network start-ups in the field of bioeconomy and promote the transfer of scientific results. 🖇️ AI x bioeconomic research: How can artificial intelligence, for example, be interlinked with bioeconomic research and advance it? In order to address issues such as these and interdisciplinary hightech professories have been created to promote issues such as these and interdisciplinary research in the bioeconomy. How can we ensure sustainable mobility in the future? The "Green Fuel Centre" (Research Centre for Synthetic Fuels) 70 of the Technical University of Munich (Technische Universität München) has been established in Straubing and is to be further into a National Research Centre for Renewable Fuels (NFZEK). 🚘 These cases show that co-creation and collaboration are specifically supported in Bavaria - benefit from the ecosystem and drive innovation forward!
