Today is Gliomablastoma Awareness Day 🧠🌟 Have you heard the heartbreaking story of Neil Armstrong's daughter who bravely battled Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive pediatric brain cancer. Despite advances in medicine, DIPG remains one of the most challenging cancers to treat, with a zero percent survival rate and radiation therapy still being the primary treatment option. Karen's story continues to raise awareness about the urgent need for more research and better treatments for DIPG. Let's honor her memory by supporting ongoing research and raising awareness. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gZNUGcjs #DIPG #BrainCancer #ChildhoodCancer #NeilArmstrong #CancerAwareness #MedicalStories #HealthAwareness #CancerResearch #Inspiration #LegacyOfHope #gbmawareness #gbm #gbmawarenessday #gliomablastoma #gliomablastomaawareness #gliomablastomaawarenessday

I had the pleasure to be interviewed by Jessica from the The Antibody Society to describe the science and research behind the microscopy image I submitted for the microscopy competition and got its place as November image in the 2024 calendar! Science is also art and microscopy allows us to visualize the beautiful world of biology. For those working with antibodies or anybody-based therapies like me and my research group, microscopy is fundamental to assess the performance of our mAb candidates as drug delivery vehicles. If you wanna hear more about it, here is the link! #research #antibody #microscopy #science #adc #drugdevelopment The Antibody Society
⭐ Creating Art with Science: a new interview with the scientist behind the November image of our 2024 calendar, Virginia Metrangolo (University of Copenhagen) is now available on our YouTube Channel! https://lnkd.in/edRhHVeh Tune in to know more about the potential Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC) in solid tumor immunotherapy! Image title "Lightening up cancer cells with antibodies" see the November image here: https://lnkd.in/enWkW4hh #adc #cancerimmunotherapy #antibodies #mabs #antibodydrugconjugates

Passed Pre-Op Check For Second Liver Ablation For the last nearly 4 years I have been sharing my journey with Pancreatic Cancer. You have seen videos and posts about the day of my Distal Pancreatectomy for Stage 1 Pancreatic cancer surgery on October 23, 2020. You have seen me going through 5 months of chemotherapy from January 4, 2021 - June 2021. I took you to the Pulmonary Lab when I was being treated for blood clots in both lungs at the completion of chemotherapy. I was on Eliquis for a year to clear my lungs. You saw me being free of any tumors for 33 months. New videos showed when I had a metastasis of the Pancreatic cancer that landed in my Liver and was treated by an Interventional Radiologist performing an Ablation of that tumor in June 2023. You have seen me as I struggled with FEAR for 4 months from January 2024 to March 2024. This FEAR was compounded by an "upward trend" in my CA19-9 Pancreatic tumor marker and awaiting the results of a PET/CT scan. Today you will see the latest development. The bottom line I want to share is that once you have developed Stage 4 of any type of cancer, there will be many sleepless nights, many scans and tests, many challenges to the concept "Who Am I? And What Is Going To Happen to Me?" For my part, I walk closely with God, I assemble an excellent medical team, I have frequent scans and blood tests. But more than anything, what gives me JOY is following the "Anti-Cancer" Recovery Plan that I have developed and share on my website: https://lnkd.in/gw6VExW5 Following and embracing this program, I remain in excellent health of body, mind, emotions and spirit. When I have a recurrence, it is LOCALIZED. Since this is the only treatment I am on, my organs remain healthy and fully functional. The only medicine I am on is CREON - a Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement pill. I am strong and robust; able to run up and down the steepest hills in Santa Monica with weights on my wrists. I am a foodie who loves to eat and prepare healthy "anti-cancer" meals and snacks. I invite you to join me today and on my website. HARNESSING YOUR BODY, MIND, EMOTIONS AND SPIRIT will ENHANCE YOUR TREATMENT OUTCOMES. My love and blessings to you.

The Next Chapter in My Book of Living with Pancreatic Cancer For those who do not know me, I am 4-year Pancreatic cancer thriver/warrior, a Holistic psychotherapist in private practice, an educator, and an award-winning author of 2 books. In the video you will hear me track every medical intervention I have had over the last 4 years - Distal Pancreatectomy (which removed 40% of my Pancreas, all of my spleen, 8 lymph nodes), 5 months on the chemotherapy drug Gemsar, 1 year on the blood thinner Eliquis to treat blood clots in both lungs caused by the chemo and the cancer itself, 2 Ablations of small metastatic tumors in the liver and a cryoablation of a metastatic tumor in my abdominal wall. Prior to the liver tumor I had been free of any cancer tumors for 33 months. After the first liver Ablation, I was free of any tumors for 1 year. Tumors appeared in liver and abdominal wall 2 months after the latest Ablation and Cryoablation in August 2024. In the video I discuss my Holistic Approach to cancer recovery - treating my body, mind, emotions and spirit through anti-cancer diet, Juicing fruits and vegetables, making smoothies with fruit, vegetables, goat kefir, chia and flax seeds, daily run/walking or yoga/Tai Chi for an hour, journaling, prayer, meditation, gardening, mindfulness, rest and balance of all parts of my life. You can find more information on my website: https://lnkd.in/gw6VExW5 Also, in this video I discuss my next medical treatment: Xeloda - a chemotherapy in pill form I will take on a 14-day cycle, with 7 days off, then repeat. I send LOVE, SUPPORT, PRAYERS to cancer patients and their families around the world. #JudithAnneDesjardinsPancreaticWarriorMaiden #TreatmentOptionsforPancreaticCancerPatients #AHolisticApproachforTreatingCancer #XelodaasaTreatmentOptionforPancreaticCancer #TheNextChapterinMyBoofofLivingwithPancreaticCancer
