10 to 30% of patient-ready endoscopes are contaminated with microorganisms. The post-antibiotic era is already here, and unfortunately, we are seeing this firsthand at Arkstone. However, just because the lab reports a microbe as completely resistant (as in the case of Acinetobacter), it doesn't mean there are no options! Some antibiotics reported as resistant may still have activity, making the traditional lab result misleading to the clinician.
