In early November, our #TeamPrefere spent a fantastic day outside, planting young little oak trees at the outer skirts of Berlin. Coached by Simon and his great crew of #Bergwaldprojekt, our #PrefereResins Management Team gained many interesting insights in today’s reforestation efforts. We were quite proud to contribute 1400 planted trees at the end of a sunny day thanks to great teamwork.   Some of you might know that the woodworking industries are an important outlet for our leading #PhenolicResins. We feel highly committed to our society’s sustainability targets and look forward to playing a vital role in our industry’s transformation process towards sustainable and biobased product solutions. Sustainability, for us, is not mere rhetoric, but a concrete, daily commitment in the production of technical adhesives that have an increasingly smaller impact on the environment throughout their production cycle. This also translates into the timely repair of systems, when damaged, and into the restoration of their full functionality in extremely short times. In August 2023, the city of Crema was hit by a violent hailstorm that caused partial or total damage to 83% of the photovoltaic system (a total of 1207 out of 1447 modules), compromising its energy production. Despite the disastrous event, Leuenberger+C hasn’t stopped; we reacted immediately and started repair work, completing our mission in only six months. “Daag” from Stuttgart! 👋 Together with construction recycling specialist Heinrich Feeß GmbH & Co. KG , we launched our first CO2 storage site in the region of Stuttgart. At this site, 1,000 tons per year of biogenic #CO2 can be permanently stored in demolition concrete and thus removed permanently from the atmosphere! We celebrated the go-live of the plant last week at an event attended by 100+ people, with the #Feess management and our Valentin Gutknecht cutting the ribbon. What an honor to launch our 1st storage site in the region with #circulareconomy pioneer Feess, thus laying the foundation for local #carbonremoval now – as well as more sustainability in #construction.
