Provider Connect Australia™ (PCA™) received international recognition in a study published in the United States by BMC Health Services Research: https://lnkd.in/gyt8j2JR The study examined the consistency of provider information in US national health plan provider directories and found consistency measures for some disciplines as low as 9–14%. It found that some international governments ran centralised national provider directories which also had inaccuracies. The article highlights the importance of gauging ‘the success of PCA™ in enrolling provider groups and the accuracy of its information as the world looks to it as a model for forward-thinking technology-enabled national provider directory’. Using PCA™, healthcare providers can update their business information in one place, ensuring a simple way to keep business partners up to date with accurate information, less duplication and easier notifications. Demand for private healthcare in the GCC continues to grow strongly driven by increasing population and income levels, burden of noncommunicable diseases, higher life expectancy, service levels remaining below global benchmarks, and Governments’ vision of improving access, quality and private sector participation. Whereas, the supply side remains constrained due to various limiting factors and entry barriers leaving significant unmet demand. GCC’s healthcare expenditure is expected to reach US$ 135 billion by 2027 which emphasizes the need for comprehensive healthcare solutions including the use of technology. GFH's Healian Healthcare platform is strategically positioned to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality particularly in underpenetrated market segments addressing the rising demands on healthcare delivery with innovative approaches and commitment to excellence.

Great initiatives by provinces in Atlantic Canada in giving patients access to their own records -- allowing them more control over their health. "We know that when patients have access to their health records, they are more engaged in their healthcare, and when they are more engaged in their healthcare, they have better outcomes." 🩺 Canada’s Healthcare: Trapped in Silos, Risking Patient Safety Did you know? In Canada, health records are often fragmented across multiple providers, with no unified system to connect the dots. This creates gaps in care, leading to missed information, duplicated tests, and increased medical errors. For example, when doctors lack access to a patient’s full medical history—like previous test results or medications—the chances of misdiagnosis or incorrect treatment rise significantly. It’s a system that’s failing both patients and healthcare providers. Alberta Virtual Care Coordinating Body Recommendation: The "Data Disarray: A Root Cause Analysis of Health Data Dysfunction in Canada" report calls for a nationwide health data overhaul. By prioritizing interoperability—systems that securely share health data in real time— they can ensure your information follows you wherever you go. This means fewer errors, better care outcomes, and a system designed with patients in mind. It’s time to reimagine healthcare in Canada. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gHTBb_Xi

Interesting findings released by ipsos, revealing 79% of Canadians would support the expansion of virtual healthcare services provided by family doctors. Virtual care has the potential to save valuable time for the health system and patients, reduce Co2 emissions, and promote flexibility for a variety of patient needs. Most importantly, virtual care advances equitable and accessible healthcare for Canadians, breaking down geographical barriers and allowing individuals to receive timely and exceptional medical care regardless of where they live. As Canadians show increasing interest in expanding virtual care initiatives year over year, the Shared pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap aims to address these needs through enabling greater patient access to health records, improving provider access to patient health information at the point-of-care, and improving overall care coordination and collaboration. You can learn more about this work and what it means for Canadians here: https://lnkd.in/g26u7UV4 More on the ipsos findings: https://lnkd.in/gvf9VPgW

HIPER - Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research Last week policy forum: UHC and HTA Just reflecting on the insightful policy forum I attending last week focusing on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA). The speakers, from various prestigious organizations and universities, brought a wealth of knowledge to the table. Here were some key take away: - Challenges and opportunities for UHC implementation: the discussion highlighted the complexity of achieving UHC, but also offering promising strategies for ensuring everyone has access to healthcare. - The critical role of HTA: I gained a deeper understanding of how HTA can evaluate new technologies for cost-effectiveness and ensure they align with UHC goals. It’s a critical tool for resource allocation and optimizing health care delivery.
