Don’t assume success… Lost Distellery enetered a hyper competitive market with a high price tag in an off the beaten path location. They engineered a lot of head winds into their go to market strategy. My guess is lots of people saw this business and assumed it was successful. If you went there on a Friday night you might have found it full. I talk to entrepreneurs all the time that presume other businesses they see are successful. And then they use that assumption as input into their own strategy. Building a GTM strategy on non-validated assumptions is dangerous. You stack them up and your business all of a sudden becomes a house of cards. Be aware of your assumptions.

Lost Spirits Distillery, a place where you could eat a 16-course meal in a submarine while watching acrobats is unfortunately walking the plank. Turns out, selling $355 dinners in a fake submarine wasn’t the gold mine it was envisioned to be, even with dragon-topped stills. LBE looking to pop up in Vegas might want to take note that even a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-themed restaurant with its own rum distillery and Cirque-style entertainment couldn't make the cut.

The #Concept of #Nightclubs is fading , and this business that used to be a #Cashmachine in the past is struggling for survival and for keeping afloat. The last reports shows that the number of nightclubs in the UK was close to 1700 back in 2013 and is close to 600 in 2024 . The Covid had an impact on the business but also the big shunk of customers have moved to the trend of #Restaurantbars where #Dining and #Dancing is combined and #Musichalls that hosts unique #Musical #Concerts . #Restaurants with #DJ , smaller #Pubs are becoming more popular . If you are a potential investor in the #Nightclub business , it is important to justify your investment and consider looking the trends... instead of investing in a huge place that needs 1000 plus customers to make a profit , it would be better to invest in two or three smaller units that would need 150-200 customers that would guarantee #Profitability . #Times and #Trends are changing.#Future of #Hospitality

The Origins of Bar Hopping Ever wondered how the popular social activity of bar hopping came to be? Let's dive into the history and evolution of this vibrant tradition! 1. Ancient Roots: Bar hopping, or moving from one drinking establishment to another in a single night, traces back to ancient times. In Ancient Greece and Rome, people would visit various taverns, sharing drinks and engaging in lively discussions. 2. Medieval Taverns: During the Middle Ages, taverns and inns served as social hubs. Travelers and locals alike would visit multiple establishments to sample different ales, wines, and regional specialties. 3. The Birth of the Pub Crawl: The term "pub crawl" emerged in the 19th century in England, where groups of friends would tour various public houses, enjoying a pint at each stop. This practice gained popularity as a social and recreational activity. 4. Prohibition Era: In the 1920s, the United States experienced Prohibition, leading to the rise of speakeasies—secret bars where people would gather to drink illegally. The thrill of moving from one hidden bar to another added an adventurous twist to bar hopping. 5. Modern Day: Today, bar hopping is a beloved activity worldwide, often organized around themes like craft beer tours, wine tastings, and holiday celebrations. It’s a way to explore diverse venues, enjoy unique drinks, and connect with friends. Tips for a Successful Bar Hopping Experience: Plan your route in advance. Stay hydrated and pace yourself. Try local specialties and new drinks. Ensure safe transportation between locations. Urban Pubs and Bars reopens former Antic pub in London’s Hackney: Urban Pubs & Bars, the London pub operator founded by Malc Heap and Nick Pring and backed by Davidson Kempner and Global Mutual, has reopened the Clapton Hart in London’s Hackney – one of 11 former Antic Pubs sites it acquired in August. The pub, which dates back to 1722, has reopened following a £1.2m refurbishment, with new features and a refreshed menu. The pub’s transformation includes a redesigned dining room and a garden revamped for year-round use, including covered huts, while a menu of hearty pub classics will be complemented by beers from local breweries, including Haggerston’s Signature Brewery. The acquisition of the portfolio which included the Clapton Hart followed the 13-strong Antic Pubs entering administration earlier this year. The pub was formerly operated by Reid’s Brewery and Charrington, and after closing in 2008, it was revived by Antic in 2012 before its recent closure and subsequent rescue. Chris Hill, managing director of Urban Pubs & Bars, said: “Saving the Clapton Hart is exactly what Urban Pubs & Bars is all about – preserving London’s rich pub culture, supporting local communities and giving historic venues the love they deserve. We’re thrilled to reopen this iconic pub just in time for Christmas, and we can’t wait to see everyone back, celebrating together in this amazing space.”

18. WHAT IS #PUB_BAR? ANS:- A PUB BAR refers to a BAR LOCATED within a PUB, which is short for "public house." Pubs are SOCIAL drinking ESTABLISHMENTS, TRADITIONALLY found in the UK and IRELAND, but they are popular WORLDWIDE. A PUB BAR typically serves a WIDE selection of ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, INCLUDING: BEERS: Often featuring local and CRAFT BREWS, ALES, LAGERS, and STOUTS (e.g., GUINNESS). SPIRITS: WHISKIES, VODKAS, GINS, and other LIQUORS, often served NEAT or in simple MIXED DRINKS. WINES and CIDERS: These are often included as well, DEPENDING on the PUB. In ADDITION to DRINKS, many PUBS SERVE HEARTY FOOD, such as BURGERS, FISH & CHIPS, or PIES, and may HOST ACTIVITIES LIKE QUIZZES, LIVE MUSIC, or SPORTS BROADCASTS. UNLIKE more MODERN BARS, PUB BARS TYPICALLY have a WARM, RUSTIC ATMOSPHERE with woodYen INTERIORS, DIM LIGHTING, and a FOCUS on CREATING a COMMUNITY space where PATRONS can RELAX and SOCIALIZE. #HOSPITALITY #BAR #REASTAURANT&BAR #HOTELS #PUBBAR #BRITISHSTYLE #BRITISH #BAETENDER #FOOD& BEVERAGE #MALTa #sleima #stjulians #beawesome #learnandleverage
