🎉🌈 Pride Month 2024: #PrideInProgress 🌈🎉 As we step into Pride Month 2024, it's time to reflect on our journey towards LGBTQ+ equality and the path that lies ahead. This year, we embrace the theme "Pride in Progress", a powerful reminder of the strides we've made and the work that remains in our quest for full acceptance and rights worldwide. "Pride in Progress" isn't just a theme; it's a call to action. It invites each one of us, allies included, to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. It's about recognizing the importance of active support and understanding that progress comes from our collective efforts. At Wipro, we're proud to champion a workplace culture that embodies #PrideTodayandEveryday. Our commitment to creating an environment that is open, inclusive, and welcoming is unwavering. We believe in the power of bringing our whole, authentic selves to work, in a space where everyone feels safe and valued. Celebrating Pride: Authenticity and Freedom to Be Pride month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its ongoing fight for equality. But even in 2024, many countries and corporations haven't embraced LGBTQ+ rights. This can lead to a heartbreaking reality: LGBTQ+ people feeling they have to choose between hiding their true selves and living authentically. The truth is, everyone benefits from a world where self-expression is encouraged. Here's why: * Diversity strengthens us all. A diverse workforce with a variety of perspectives leads to better decision-making and innovation. * Authenticity leads to well-being. When LGBTQ+ employees can be their true selves at work, they're happier, more fulfilled, and more productive. * Inclusion is good for business. Studies show that companies that embrace LGBTQ+ inclusion outperform their peers. Pride month is a chance to break down barriers and celebrate the beauty of diversity. Let's create a world where everyone feels safe to be themselves. #pridemonth #lgbtq #aweness #inclusioniselemental #🏳️🌈 #happypridemonth

Amidst the vibrant celebrations of Pride Month, one film recommendation that deeply resonated with me was Call Me by Your Name. Beyond its poignant portrayal of love and self-discovery, the film offers a beautiful tale of a 17 year old Elio understanding his sexual orientation. What took me by surprise is the revelation that his parents were aware and in fact orchestrated the process of self-discovery and exploration. As organizations celebrate pride month and show their commitment towards supporting those from the LGBTQ+ community I wonder how many of us are championing this in our personal spaces. The movie offered valuable insights: 💛 Allyship begins at home. 💙 Belonging is when you feel accepted for who you are. 💜 Acceptance is hard but can be most rewarding to lead fulfilled lives. 👉 Organizations are wired to reward sameness - same college, same previous organization, same club, same style of dressing, same sport. 🔻 The cookie cutter landscape of our organizations and teams needs to welcome people for who they are rather than continue to promote sameness. 🌈 How can you contribute to promoting LGBTQ+ inclusivity in your workplace this Pride Month and beyond? #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #Allyship #Intersectionality #Belongingness #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality

Here's the quick story (and a powerful takeaway that will change your workplace): My $5 pin, a blend of LGBTQ+ pride and Latino culture, became a conversation starter in the office. 🌈✨ It sparked discussions on inclusivity and representation that we'd never had before. 🗣️💬 This tiny investment reminded me that sometimes, it's the small things that can make the biggest impact. Empowering Latino LGBTQ+ voices means creating a space where everyone feels seen and heard. 🙌 It's about intersectionality, understanding that we all have unique stories and challenges. 🤝 Want to make a change in your workplace? Start with a symbol, a gesture, or a conversation. It's easier than you think! National Coming Out Day: A Celebration of Courage and Community Yesterday, we marked National Coming Out Day, a day dedicated to honoring our true selves and celebrating the bravery of those who have come out. Founded in 1988, this day commemorates the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ history. As a queer nonbinary person with disabilities, I've experienced firsthand the challenges of coming out. It's a journey that requires immense courage and resilience. More the reasons why celebrating National Coming Out Day in the workplace is vital for supporting LGBTQIA+ employees. It fosters an inclusive environment, promotes equality, and shows commitment to diversity. Recognizing this day helps break down barriers, reduce stigma, and ensures everyone feels valued and respected. Let's use this day to champion visibility, acceptance, and the importance of creating inclusive spaces for all. By fostering a culture of respect and understanding, we can build communities where everyone feels valued and respected. ID: The image shows Morrison taking a selfie outdoors. Happy Pride Month! 🌈 How are you celebrating this year? And, crucially, what ambitious goals are you committing to to drive equality for global LGBTQ+ communities? At a time when global LGBTQ+ rights are being attacked and amidst an unyielding wave of transphobia, businesses need to go beyond changing their corporate logos for 30 days. LGBTQ+ employees deserve equality, abundant opportunities and the agency to be their authentic selves within the workplace. Actions that organizations can take can look like: ✨ Implementing trainings and workshops. Do all of your employees have the base language and knowledge to discuss LGBTQ+ issues confidently? Do they have the knowledge around cultural and historical contexts and the tools to advocate for their LGBTQ+ peers? INvolve's trainings and workshops can help you here. ✨ Talent Development Programs. Do you have targeted and robust talent development programs in place for your LGBTQ+ employees? Enable success by investing in equitable programs that will lead to tangible change and elevate your LGBTQ+ talent to the top. ✨ Data is key. How do your LGBTQ+ employees really feel? What are their lived experiences within your organization? Tools like our RADAR can help organizations establish their current state of play when it comes to LGBTQ+ inclusion and locate areas of improvement. Senior leaders and allies, Pride month provides an opportunity to be accountable for change. Don't let June pass without putting in plans for year round change. Let us know what commitments you're making this Pride Month and how you plan on extending your efforts past the 30 days. Not sure where to start? Drop the INvolve team a message at engagement@involvepeople.org or DM us on LinkedIn and we'll can support you. ➡ https://lnkd.in/gqd6rA6 #PrideMonth #PrideMonth2024 #TalentDevelopment #BusinessDevelopment #DEI #Inclusion #LGBTQ+ #LGBTBiz #LGBTQInclusion #Pride2024 #CultureChange #Culturetransformation #Allyship

Pride Month may be over, but the fight for inclusion and LGBTQ+ equality continues every single day. This movement, born from the Stonewall Riots – a courageous act of resistance against discrimination – reminds us that true inclusion requires constant effort. When LGBTQ+ employees can bring their full, authentic selves to work, everyone benefits - especially the patients whom we serve. Endpoints News recently celebrated Pride Month with its annual feature on LGBTQ+ industry leaders, including BMS's own Francisco Ramírez-Valle, MD, PhD, FAAD. Please join me in recognizing the impact that this year's recipients make for patients. See the full list at https://lnkd.in/emg2tbY4. Sadly, showing that the fight for inclusion is not over, one individual selected by Endpoints for recognition this year asked not to be included, citing safety concerns arising from the current climate that the LGBTQ+ community faces. Let's celebrate the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, not just in June, but every day and acknowledge that the fight is not over. Together, we can create a more inclusive and successful world for everyone, but that will require sustained effort and focus. And to the industry leader who could not accept recognition for safety reasons, we support you. #Pride #Inclusion #LGBTQ+ #Authenticity #Allies
