🌞 Is Summer the New January? At the start of the year, we all focused on January as the time for fresh starts—the usual “New Year, New Us” mindset. However, there’s a growing trend to treat summer not just as the dry patch you have to survive, hiding in the office, but as a natural check-in point. While people rest and recover on their vacations and the heat intensifies, there’s a natural tendency to slow down. This allows us to focus on systematic thinking, rather than getting buried under countless to-dos and busy calendars. During the long summer days, we took the chance to: 👉 Recharge and rest, taking time away from our daily responsibilities 👉 Bring in new ideas and perspectives 👉 Focus on our overarching goals and strategies 👉 Review our progress on projects 👉 Regroup and realign our priorities 👉 Build strategies and plans for the last busy stretch of the year Now, as summer comes to a close, we feel focused and ready for the rest of the year! 💪 Did you turn summer into a mid-year reset? #bishopco #bishopcolifestyle

It’s the first Monday of December, and for many (including me), this month marks a time to slow down, wrap up the year, and wait for January to bring fresh energy. But here’s a different perspective: Why wait for the new year to start fresh? There are still four weeks, 20+ days, and hundreds of hours left in this year. That’s plenty of time to: ✅ Take that bold step in your career. ✅ Pitch that game-changing idea. ✅ Follow through on an opportunity you’ve been hesitating on. While others wind down, you can step up. This is your chance to stand out in a less crowded space, to get ahead while everyone else hits pause. How's this for commitment? 🎯 To treat every day like it matters. 🎯 To take action on the goals we’ve been holding back. 🎯 To end the year stronger than we started. Your next big opportunity might be waiting right here, in December. Let’s make this Monday—and every day this month—count. #MondayMotivation #YearEndGoals #OpportunityAwaits

The day after Labor Day is the HARDEST day of the year! 😤 The day after Labor Day can feel conflicted, right? The end of summer brings a shift—a return to school, work, and a heightened pace. You're tired and missing the warmth of summer and recreation. And also you might really want to embrace the idea of re-creation - September invites us to reset, refocus, and reignite. Here are three things I've been suggesting will help make it an easier adjustment. ⚾ Elevator Pitch 2.0: Rewrite your elevator pitch and then imagine what your elevator could look like in 6 months. Who are you now and who do you aspire to be this winter? 🍁 Savor the Season: Go ahead and sip that Pumpkin Spice WhateveryYouLike and embrace the beauty and colors of Fall. 🌑 Realign Your Rhythm: As the evenings grow longer, make small adjustments to balance productivity with rest. This summer, I’ve celebrated a number of client successes—landing jobs and big promotions. This fall, I’m sharpening my focus towards delivering the most impactful coaching while prioritizing well-being. How are you welcoming September? #SeptemberReset #CareerGrowth #Networking #WellBeing #NewBeginnings

Why do most of our New Year resolutions fade by February, even when we start with so much enthusiasm? 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Yes! We have all been there December comes with its charm, FULL OF REFLECTIONS and the PROMISE OF NEW BEGINNINGS... We sit down, write long lists of goals for the coming year, and swear👇🏿👇🏿 THIS TIME, I WILL STICK WITH THEM For the first few weeks, we are UNSTOPPABLE, MOTIVATED, DRIVEN and CONVINCED this year will be different. But then something happens 😩😩 ✔ Work gets overwhelming ✔ Life throws unexpected curveballs ✔ And slowly, the habits we were so excited about slip away SUDDENLY, FEBRUARY IS HERE😔😔 And that gym membership feels more like a distant memory than a commitment 😪😃 WHAT WENT WRONG? WHY DO SO MANY OF US FAIL TO MAINTAIN THE SAME ENERGY WE STARTED WITH? Last year, I experienced the same... ☑ I set ambitious goals—both professionally and personally ☑ I was eager to reinvent myself, push boundaries, and step outside my comfort zone January was full of early mornings and focused productivity; But by mid-February, I was back to my old routines. Then, I realized that SETTING RESOLUTIONS IS ONLY PART OF THE EQUATION Sustaining them requires ✅ STRUCTURE ✅ ACCOUNTABILITY ✅ And UNDERSTANDING THAT PROGRESS ISN’T ALWAYS LINEAR. As the year ends, WILL YOU JUST SET RESOLUTIONS AGAIN, OR WILL YOU COMMIT TO LASTING CHANGE? Part 1 of 2 Winter months invite us to rest, reflect, and restore—arguably some of the most important work we can do during this season. For many, this comes naturally as the year winds down and a new one approaches. For others, it’s easy to get swept up in the commotion of the holidays and miss this opportunity. Which group do you fall into? If you’re more of a “breezer,” take a moment to pause. Winter naturally calls for restoration—it’s instinctive. As humans, we have the unique gift of higher-level thinking. This gift allows us not only to reflect on our actions but also to make meaningful changes and evolve consciously. It’s what sets us apart. Don't let this opportunity slip by. It's not about adding another task to your to-do list. Instead, think of it as a chance to explore: - What could you adjust to create better results? - What’s already working well that you can continue building on? - How are your choices affecting you? What about others? Reflection can happen at many levels—company, team, family, individual. Maybe you’re already doing this work with your team or organization. But have you carved out time for personal reflection? Stay tuned for Thursday! I’ll share insights on taking stock of your achievements and ongoing efforts. #winter #reflection #progress

As we bid farewell to 2024, it's a good time to reflect on how we invest our most valuable resource: time. Work will always demand more—a never-ending stream of emails, late nights, and pressing deadlines. But the moments we spend with family and loved ones? Those are irreplaceable. The holiday season serves as a powerful reminder of what truly matters. As we step into 2025, it's worth asking ourselves: How can we better protect the time that matters most? Success is important, but so are the people who cheer us on, support us, and celebrate our wins along the way. Let’s make this new year one where we prioritize both—our ambitions and the relationships that sustain us. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and family-filled start to 2025!

As we approach the year-end, I find myself reflecting not just on the work we've accomplished, but on the culture we often glorify—one that equates working harder and "being grateful" for what we have with success. While gratitude is important, it’s equally essential to recognize that asking for fair compensation, standing up for your needs, or requesting balance isn’t a sign of being ungrateful—it’s a necessity. In the corporate world, we’re often driven by hustle culture: moving from one task to another, running on autopilot, and calling December's holidays a "break." But let’s pause for a reality check. These breaks are not just moments of rest—they are time to step away from the relentless pace, acknowledge fatigue, and confront the realities we often push aside. It’s not about "recharging to hustle harder," but about stepping back, regaining perspective, and addressing what as truly needs to change for ourselves. Let’s remind ourselves that standing up for what’s fair, creating boundaries, and re-evaluating priorities are not acts of defiance but steps toward a healthier, more sustainable approach to work and life. It’s time we rethink what we glorify and aim for solutions that truly serve us.

It's Friday... “Hope This Helps” (#14): Fridays, and establishing momentum For those that are in transition, when it comes to successfully executing your search “game plan” for the week, try hitting the ground running as hard as you can on Friday. Reflect and follow-up on all of the activity from the week. Conduct more research, list out your calls, emails, meetings, and job opportunities/organizations that you want to pursue so that come Monday morning you’re ready to roll. You’ll have a strong-hold on your search efforts, and you’ll be able to set the tone for the week. It’s all about momentum. Be creative.
