You have to hear this story . . . 👇 👇 👇 Last night, we attended a 70th anniversary for a local restaurant. 🥂 Our friend's family has been going there for over 40 years. Her parents were regulars throughout the years and loved this place. Little did they know, the staff loved them even more! Though my friend's parents passed many years ago, The owners came to our table, shared stories of her parents, and even remembered their booth number and every detail of their orders! What is the lesson here? 1. True customer service is a lost art: We've become too transactional. 2. You have time to stop . . . and get to know your customers. Take the time! 3. The impact of GREAT service goes well beyond any KPI. Make it a priority! After last night, we'll be going there for the next 40 years! Truly impressive. So, I'll ask the question again. Recently, I had an opportunity to do just that. A customer, who was in the hospital, contacted us because of a failed transaction that left her unable to access much-needed funds. the standard procedure was to wait for 24 hours for a reversal. But in that moment, I knew waiting wasn’t an option. I took immediate action, escalated the issue, and ensured we had a resolution . Her gratitude was overwhelming, and it reminded me of why I am so passionate about what I do. I love making customers smile – it brings me an intense sense of joy and fulfillment. This Customer Service Week, I celebrate not just the rules we follow, but the times we can step outside of them to truly help someone in need. April fools day! There is widespread debate as to the origin of today, but one thing we can all agree on, and that is we need to to be more critical of new information-especially on April 1st. Remember that time Taco Bell said they bought the Liberty Bell and was going to change the name to the Taco Liberty Bell? Why do we feel the need to try and “fool” someone anyway? Our team has been working extremely hard to get out some of our most anticipated new features and we're finally ready to start showing them off -- 1) Dripos Go App - Turns any phone or Dripos card reader into a mobile POS that routes to our built in KDS and pulls from the same menu as all of your other ordering channels. 2) Accounting - A full Quickbooks replacement that'll help automate bookkeeping and generate all expected reports. Bonus points if you already use Dripos Payroll as we can automatically link everything to your chart of accounts instantly. 3) COGs and Vendor Management - Track your vendors and the products you purchase from them, scan invoices in to track inventory and cost, and then attach recipes to your Dripos menu for live menu profitability and COGs reports. When you work in CX, every time you run into a situation where you yourself need support from a company, it’s easy to sit in your armchair quarterback recliner and happily drag a company for whatever flaws they have in their service. I’m happy to share an alternative story: simple service, done right, done fast. They don’t have a LI profile but it looks like the owner does, so a big thanks to Heather Smith and the DomesticDomestic team. I’ve ordered from this brilliantly curated little store before as they have the coolest stuff. However, my Black Friday order, unfortunately, had a snafu with an item missing from the shipment. I had opened the package and discovered the problem after midnight last night. Wondering what to do, I checked my order confirmation and it had a simple “Reply here if you need help” email option. I sent the email at roughly 12:30am Sunday morning, and lo and behold, received a response at 9:40am (I wasn’t even awake yet) with an apology and confirmation they’ll ship a replacement the following day, along with a proactive tracking number. That’s the good shit, folks. That right there. No bots, no complicated IVR, no back and forth, no waiting until Mon-Fri business hours, no claims forms. When I learned customer service in my first retail job at Nordstrom, this is exactly how they teach. It’s embedded in The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.’s Gold Standards. And it’s obviously being practiced by a cool little shop from Little Rock, Arkansas. Please go give DomesticDomestic.com some of your holiday business. They’ve earned mine.
