Teaching my sons about focus and discipline is something I believe is essential for their long-term growth. As a parent, I feel it’s my responsibility to help them find what interests them and encourage them to pursue it with intention. I want them to develop the ability to focus and have the discipline to improve. I struggle sometimes, not wanting to be too overbearing, yet not wanting them to miss out on the benefits of structured development. My approach is to find great coaches in areas they show interest in, support their routine, and encourage consistency. By finding activities they enjoy, I hope to make it easier for them to focus now, so they’ll be able to apply those skills even when faced with things they don’t enjoy as much. Providing the right balance of support and guidance will allow them to learn the value of focus and discipline throughout their lives. #Focus #Discipline #Parenting #LinkedIn

As parents, we often make decisions with the best intentions, especially when it comes to our teens. We see the potential in them, we want to protect them, and sometimes, we make choices on their behalf that we believe are in their best interest—like seeking coaching support. But here’s the truth: Coaching isn’t something that can be imposed. For it to truly work, your teen needs to be the one making the choice. Coaching is about them deciding to take control of their own growth, confidence, and future. It’s an opportunity for them to choose to work on themselves in a way that feels right for them. The magic of coaching happens when your teen says, “Yes, I’m ready to do this for me.” Here’s how you can support that decision: 1. 💜💜Open the Conversation💜💜 Instead of telling your teen they *need* coaching, ask them how they feel about it. Explore what challenges they’re facing and how they think coaching could help. This gives them a voice in the process and helps them see the value. 2. 🌟🌟Highlight the Benefits🌟🌟: honor their challenges. Whether it's time management, emotional regulation, working through a break up or trouble making new friends, coaching can help them and having a neutral party support them takes pressure off of them. 3. **Respect Their Choice**: If your teen decides they’re not ready for coaching, that’s okay. Respecting their decision now can lead to them opting in when they truly feel prepared, which makes the experience far more impactful. Coaching is a partnership, and it starts with your teen choosing to take that first step. When they opt in, they’re not just participating—they’re owning their journey. And that’s where real transformation begins. If your teen is curious about what coaching can offer, I’m here to answer any questions and help them explore how this journey could look for them. Let's empower them to make this choice with confidence. 💪 Schedule your complimentary 15 minute consultation here: https://lnkd.in/g5Xgv9FT #TeenCoaching #EmpowerYourTeen #ReclaimingYourCourage #LeslieLew #youthdevelopment #teenagelife #collegebound #highschoolsenior #coachingteen

In a world where vulnerability is often met with judgment, creating a... space where individuals can express themselves without fear is both a necessity and an art. A safe space is more than just a physical setting—it's an environment where people feel truly seen, heard, and respected. It’s where personal growth can take root, as individuals feel free to explore their emotions without the weight of judgment or expectations. In my experience as a coach, alongside Ranjana, we’ve witnessed firsthand the power of these spaces. When we first built Inside Out, we didn’t just want a workshop—we wanted a transformative experience. One where emotions could be fully felt, stories could be shared, and breakthroughs could happen. Now, as we prepare for Inside Out 2.0, we’re going deeper than ever. Our journey as coaches taught us that growth happens when people feel safe to break down the walls they’ve built. And we’ve seen that true safety comes from empathy, understanding, and being able to hold space for others without trying to fix, change, or rush their process. But how do you actually create such a space? 🤷♂️ We’ve had years of experience and learning through coaching that has shaped how we cultivate this environment—and we’re excited to bring it to life once again. #safespace #nonjudgmental #emotions #workshop

Hubert Joly commonly references finding what gives you #energy and #purpose and then going all in on that thing (especially if you can make money doing it). So, why would you listen to what anyone else has to say about that? Sure, you may trust your parents, spouse, friends, other family members, and closest mentors 100%, but do they really know what you need? At MGM Coaching, that is what we call the "External Self Validation Trap." By relying on what advice you get from others, you are doing yourself a disservice. Only YOU, and you alone, can know what it is you need that gives you purpose. If you only understand your Cognitive Mind and Affective Beliefs, you are missing out on 33% of your brain that is VITAL to this understanding. #mentor #externalselfvalidation #conativemind #affectivebeliefs #mgmcoaching

Recently, a friend shared a link to a video where a guy spoke about the "toxic world of self-help" as he called it. It reminded me of the most important lesson I learned at the beginning of my lifelong commitment to personal growth about 17 years ago. I learned through Tony Robbins who had learned from Jim Rohn that "learning must lead to action" for transformation to occur. There can be no doubt that learning offers the greatest leverage to change the narratives of our lives as individuals. However, it is only through the power of intentional practice that we can ultimately change the quality of our lives. Through this carousel, let's explore why learning might not lead to progress or transform the quality of someone's life. Most importantly, let's delve into the power of Intentional Practice! Kindly share with others 🙏 #LifelongLearning #IntentionalPractice #TonyRobbins #JimRohn #GrowthPlan #Habits #Coaching #SelfHelp #PersonalDevelopment #CoachAbdulwaheed

The idea of hybrid working seems ideal for many parents. At least it does so at first glance. But often working with your little ones around can turn into a major challenge. My friend Julian and I worked on putting a system in place that allowed him to be productive at work and be a present dad without the extra headaches. I help entrepreneurial dads strategically manage their time and energy so they can forge the life they aspire to. Get in touch with me about 1:1 coaching. #timemanagement #productivity #personaldevelopment #accountability
