We have the most ambitious Net-Zero target in the rigid food packaging industry🎯🤝 We are proud to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated our emission reduction targets. This includes our near-term (2030) target aligned with the 1.5°C pathway, and long-term (2040) science-based Net-Zero target. Many of our customers have committed to, or set, science-based targets. 🌱 How far are you on your decarbonisation journey? Since joining Faerch Group in summer 2022, the learning curve has been steep 🚀 🌍 We completed Faerch’s GHG emissions baseline for 2022 after the acquisition of PACCOR – managing heaps of data was quite the challenge! 🎯 We made a strategic decision on target-setting, aligning with our business model and strategy - what was actually possible? 💪 We committed to the SBTi Net-Zero Standard in December 2022 - that was the easy part, but marked there was only one way forward. 🌍 We completed Faerch’s GHG inventory 2023 – the process had improved compared to the first year, but it can be even better. 📝 Started filing out the formal SBTi validation papers and submitted them in October 2023, and waited for our validation slot to open in January 2024 - happy to see so many wanting science-based targets. 🤝 Now, I'm thrilled to pass on this knowledge to new colleagues, suppliers and customers embarking on their decarbonisation journeys as well. 🔍 While this SBTi validation is a milestone it was also the “easy” part, it will require hard work and collaboration throughout the value chain to deliver on our commitments. Fortunately, I'm in a company with visionary owners deeply committed to sustainability and a business strategy centered around circularity, making our goals feel within reach. 👏 Lastly, huge shoutout to The Footprint Firm for holding my hand a bit – it has been an incredible learning journey! #climateaction #SBTi #circularity #developmentjourney #Faerch
