Asking for donations is both an art and a science. 🎨 🧪 Imagine successfully guiding a supporter through a digital journey, cutting through all the distractions (barking dogs, TikTok trends, spam texts, etc.). It’s now time to ask for a gift. But how much should you ask for? How much is too much, and what is a missed opportunity? 🤔 In an ideal world, an organization’s ask amounts should strike a balance: offering an accessible entry point while signaling the unique role a donor can play with their contribution. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 “𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁” 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿. In part, that's why nonprofits have major gift officers -- to spend time building relationships on an individual level. (And they of course focus on donors who are interested in making large gifts.) By the time they've done their research, given a tour, and scarfed down all the coffee and scones, that fundraiser has a solid idea of a supporter's giving capacity. But what if nonprofits could have that same kind of high-touch relationship with every donor, at scale? ✨ Well, the brilliant minds at Classy are making that vision a reality. I’m beyond proud of our teams for their hard work building, testing, and launching Intelligent Ask Amounts. I'll always refer to this offering as Sam Heckendorf's baby, but it's a group effort.
