Top-down construction—constructing floors at ground level, then raising them to the top of the building and then successively downward—potentially offers an attractive alternative to conventional construction, with its costly, labor-intensive, and environmentally wasteful process of building steel frames, floors, walls, and all components of a building at height. However, the adoption of an advanced form of top-down construction has not become widespread. With recent refinements, however, top-down construction has become a much more practical option. Under current commercial real estate business conditions—namely, soaring construction costs, labor scarcity, and environmental degradation—the cost savings, labor reduction, and enhanced sustainability of this approach have become even more compelling for the commercial real estate industry. We are going to use this construction technology for Winners Tower - a 25-story project we are proposing on MLK Blvd, in Dallas. Stay tuned for updates.

Construction is now well underway with Tier 1 contractor Multiplex on Gordon Corp’s visionary development, the first on The Spit in more than 20 years. MULTIPLEX HAVE: -Mobilized builder activities onsite including safety, pedestrian zones, traffic management, entry blinding slabs and construction signage. -Completed the basement perimeter sheet piling to allow excavation. -Foundation works underway with whaler beams and ground anchor installation underway and will continue while the basement construction is completed. -Services rough-in for Stormwater and Utility connections. -Basement dewatering is 95% established and will continue as excavation removes the sand from the basement zone. -Basement excavation has commenced. NEXT 30-DAY MILESTONES ARE: -Detailed excavation and piling pad installation. -Installation of the stormwater mains pipe on the southern boundary of the site.
