What truly stands out about Kelly is her incredible leadership. She had the vision to address a systemic issue and the determination to rally others around it. Kelly’s ability to see the whole picture is inspiring—she doesn’t just focus on the children she fosters, adopts, or parents biologically. She extends her care to their entire ecosystem. She approaches every biological parent, relative, and caregiver with empathy and the belief that they are doing the best they can with the resources they have, and that they, too, deserve love and care. Being a part of this community has helped me grow in all aspects of my life. 2. Foster family community: Last year my wife and I became foster parents (easily one of the best decisions of our life but I’ll save that for a seperate post.)
