Not-so-Cold Plunge Musings: #27 “‘Thanksgiving?’ If you only knew…” What does Thanksgiving have to do with you? It all depends upon your perspective. This week, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving in the US – 403 years after a remnant of pilgrims who survived sickness, starvation, and their first brutal winter in North America celebrated with their friends, the Native Wampanoag, in the fall of 1621. Whether they called it “Thanksgiving” or not, they certainly had much to be thankful for: Not for their brutal trials and tribulations but for surviving them. The trials and tribulations I’ve endured are nothing compared to what these survivors had to overcome. Still, this is what I’ve learned… I don’t have to be thankful FOR the difficulties or wait until they pass to be grateful. Instead, I can find gratitude and thankfulness in the midst of them. It’s been so transformative in my life that I’ll repeat it… We don’t have to be thankful FOR our difficulties or wait until they pass to be grateful. Instead, we can find gratitude & thankfulness in the midst of them. While we might not choose our circumstances, we always get to decide how we’ll respond to them. It’s a matter of perspective—and THAT is a daily choice within our control. Agree? Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving EVERY DAY. #gratitude #thanksgiving #anythingbuttypical #coldplunge #mindset BGW CPA, PLLC

💠28.11.2024💠Thanksgiving 💠 Some of my own reflections this thanksgiving: 1. Gratitude for the Gift of Life: Being able to wake up amidst the struggle to have a good nights rest taking each new day as an opportunity to start fresh, embrace challenges, and grow into the best version of myself. Waking up is a blessing many don’t get—cherish it. 2. The Power of Possibility: With every sunrise comes the chance to create, connect, and make a difference. Each of us hold the power to shape our day and the lives of those around us so try not to piss people off. Lol 3. Strength in Challenges: There will be tough days, hence use it as to your advantage. Each struggle makes you stronger, wiser, and more resilient. 4. Connection: Thankful for the relationships in my life—family, friends, brotherhood and colleagues who add some meaning and joy. Every interaction is a chance to uplift and be uplifted. 5. Hope for Tomorrow: Thanksgiving is a reminder of abundance—not just of food 🐓 🍗 , but of hope, love, and opportunity. The best is yet to come for all of us and every day is a step closer to it. Take a moment to savor the small joys today, and carry this gratitude into all the days ahead. Kudos to those who are less fortunate but have more to give day in day out..This one’s for all of us🦾

Do you get caught up in the busyness of this season? The holiday season often feels like a whirlwind. There are gifts to buy, gatherings to attend, meals to prepare, and traditions to uphold. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness and lose sight of why we celebrate in the first place. But, what if instead of the busy, the extras we chose to pause? What if, instead of striving for perfection, we focused on the One who came to bring peace, hope, and joy? This time of year isn’t about the hustle or the stress—it’s about celebrating the greatest gift we’ve ever been given: Jesus. He came not to add to our to-do lists but to take the weight off our shoulders and remind us of what truly matters. Let’s take moments to quiet our hearts and refocus. The cookies don’t need to be perfect. The tree doesn’t need to have every light in place. What matters most is His presence in our lives and the love we share with those around us. “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10 As we move through the season, where is somewhere you can make a shift? Maybe even create a pause moment in your day or a time to be still with God? #bestillwithgod #reasonfortheseason
