Love seeing this project progress!  Nuclear power can play a key role in decarbonization, energy security, base load power, in-province jobs, and long-term power price stability for Saskatchewan.  But we'll have to build more than one! Back-of-the-napkin math based on skelectricity.info data (collected from SaskPower) shows that it'll take upwards of 8 SMRs to replace today's coal and gas fleet, and that assumes zero future demand growth - which is unlikely! #SkNuclear #Saskatchewan #electricity #nuclear

The "Key Measurement Point" (KMP) is a core concept in the #nuclear #nonproliferation #safeguards system of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Along with the batch and the Material Balance Area, the KMP helps define what, where and how IAEA inspectors verify the inventory at the facility. A related concept, defined in Para 116 of INFCIRC/153 is the "strategic point" which "...means a location selected during examination of design information where, under normal conditions and when combined with the information from all "strategic points" taken together, the information necessary and sufficient for the implementation of safeguards measures is obtained and verified; a "strategic point" may include any location where key measurements related to material balance accountancy are made and where containment and surveillance measures are executed."
